Because they say salt is a way to ward of spirits, protect yourself, and so cleanse things.

But like we eat salt in fucking everything, so like, just by a factor of us needing salt to live, we are being clensed.

So there is literally no need for praying, for any sort of religious or spiritual work, because if you consume salt then you are cleansed of stuff and protected against ghosts and negative energy.

But we still feel bad sometimes and we have not great days.

So because the fact that we eat salt and still have shitty days, proves that spirituality is bullshit.

Some people may say of you need intention and such but they will also say be careful around certain rocks and minerals as if you are going to cause something by touching a rock.

I don't like spirituality and religion because it's all confirmation bias and delusional reinforcement. The moment someone points out a problem that you agree. I answer for it's "god works in mysterious ways" or "oh you must have not done it right or somehow about your star sign or the lunar phase"

It's a way to try and make yourself feel like you have control or that something somewhere has control of reality. As if there is a director of the set of life that we stand upon, a guiding hand among the chaos we see before us.

But there is no organizing or leading factor or group or entity in reality. We are in an uncaring void and it is not the answer to create a god or a spirit or entity that handles all of our problems and watches over us. The answer is to come together and hold on to each other and create our own lights in the darkness. To create meaning instead of searching for it in fantasy and religion/spirituality.

I don't think there's one single reason as to why people go towards religion and spirituality. Be it looking for forgiveness, safety, or power/success. However I think they're all running from the same thing, the fact that ultimately, no matter what they do, not matter how far science progresses, no matter how good or bad they are, no matter how much they hope and pray, they are going to die some day.

And it is that fact, the not experiencing that frightens people. Because they can not imagine not being able to experience, not even being aware of not being able to experience.

Granted I do think some religious people do have a lot of confidence, they are willing to go through great hardship because they think there is an eternal afterlife or some good thing around the corner.

This also goes for numerology and engrams and the more pseudosciencey beliefs. The problem with them is that they try and base their understandings in science to give themselves more credibility it are also just as flimsy and empty as religion and spirituality and witchcraft. It's the same thing, just with more scientific basises that they built their bullshit on.

And some people may say this stuff is harmless, it's just silly little things people believe in. I disagree, I think that ultimately it is an interesting concept but building your whole basis of life on bullshit is stupid and leads to very dumb stuff like religious wars and persecution. Witchcraft has roots in Scandinavian culture and was used to justify raiding the British countryside, Christianity was used to justify invading middle eastern countries, even the Nazis tried to use buddhism as a way to justify genocide.

Religion is built upon a basis of control and "I don't like that thing so instead this thing i just made up" and so long as there are people who believe in religion there will be wars and suffering based upon the guidance of cruelty and propaganda that even the pure and just may fall prey too.

I'm sure it will die out naturally though

If I do post pics I get accused of invading privacy, if I don’t post pics I get called a hypocrite because I posted stuff before or accused of ‘gatekeeping’ stuff.

I don’t appreciate being scolded for mentioning someone because of what a troll’s reaction might be - the only person whose reaction I am responsible for is my own. I am not here to be held accountable for the bad behaviour of other people.

Read this blog, don’t read it, i don’t care but all ‘complaints to the management’ are just going in a big round metaphorical dustbin. Think you can do better? Do it. Start your own blog instead of constantly picking holes in what I’m doing.

I’m so bored of saying it but this is my blog and I am going to post what I want and when I want.

I know that this rant doesn’t actually apply to 99% of my followers and lurkers, and I really do love and appreciate all of you who like my posts and fic and just let me do my thing 🫶
