“Taffyta, Rancis…” Vanellope greeted them, giving an awkward glance their ex-ruler’s way. “I’m sure you remember King Candy… ahehe…” “Um. Since when is that allowed outside?” Taffyta asked, pointing her lollipop King Candy’s way. That being said, her snide tone was unable to mask the fear present within her eyes. “Oh, pardon me, I wasn’t aware I needed your permission.” He sneered right back, only for Vanellope to shoot a desperately pleading look his way. King Candy, albeit reluctantly, toned down the hostility in his voice, but not without a begrudging bug-like warble first. “I guess you could say I’m on bodyguard duty.” Vanellope had to muffle her laughter at the word ‘duty’, causing King Candy to cast her a most unimpressed stare. Taffyta and Rancis, on the other hand, exchanged uncertain glances with each other. “Uh, Vanny, are you sure that’s a good idea?” Rancis asked in a bit of a whisper, as if the Cy-bug wasn’t literally right there, “I mean, that’s kinda like Link going to Ganondorf for bodyguarding…”

He looks like a typical snooty british ass, but he seems to have a soft spot. An example of this is his cute interactions between him and Vanellope in the book One Sweet Race, which I liked.
