Tour de Fleece Day 14: Rambouillet

Merino, but if it was French. The crimp is a little bit more disorganized, making for loftier yarns. The fineness is more consistent, so I find it softer than most Merino, but coarser than the finest Merino (if that makes sense). I'm a fan and made several projects including a raglan sweater (using four braids dyed by Apothefaery, pictured) and a large shawl (using five braids dyed by various dyers including the last by myself).

Rambouillet is easier to source than spell. All the normal retailers carry white top, including at $20 a pound from R. H. Lindsay. It's one of the most common wools offered by hand dyers, including one of my favorites, Apothefaery (see sweater).

I'm a day behind in posting because kayaking stole my energy yesterday. And once I break a habit it's harder to restart. Next up is Shropshire
