If you are wanting to purchase a used RV make sure that you are checking the DOT date on your tires, not just the tread. 🚎 A tire can have plenty of tread left and yet be out of life and potentially dangerous if it is out of date. What you can't see is the inside deterioration, and that is why we use DOT dates to help us better determine a tires health. 🚎 In this picture you can see that the born on date for this tire is the 3rd week of 2016. 🚎 Remember any tire over 10 years old needs to be replaced immediately. But 7 years is really ideal. 🚎 Although a DOT date is not the only consideration when looking at the tires, it should be at the top of the list when checking them on a used rig.
