OKOKOKOKOK AKABAN FANS I HAVE SOMETHING TO POINT OUT.

So we all saw this scene in the latest chapter. I know what’s gonna be different about Akane’s God Of Death compared to Shiguma’s, Shomei’s, and Kaisei’s.

She’s not performing a god of death, she’s performing the god of death.

She’s playing something all-consuming, and there being only one god of death fundamentally changes the story. Both the Shinigami that Shiguma played and the Shinigami that Shomei played were both influenced by other gods of death in the stories. Shiguma’s Shinigami taught the doctor how to ward against other gods of death, while Shomei’s Shinigami was going to have his death god boss get mad at him.

Akane’s Shinigami isn’t dealing with any of that.

It’s one-on-one. Her doctor isn’t going to be banishing random, low-level gods of death, they’re going to be facing off against one all-powerful entity.

そして本題の落語に行ってきました。
