The second “test tile” idol. This glaze was one called copper sand, which I believe was a recreation of mayco’s copper penny. This glaze can also produce brass tones which I was hoping for, but we didn’t figure out what combination of oxidation and timing produced that result.

One of a pair of idols made as test tiles for the specific temperature range, timing, and firing vessel we were using. The glaze used here is Peacock matte.
