#radioactive spider

Opening my eyes I see the sun nearly blinding me through the window so I reached over not wanting to get out of bed to close the curtain. But I miss the curtain yet something shoots from my hand sticking onto it when I pull my hand away. The curtain comes with my hand where I think I'm dreaming when I see some kind of web attached to it. A thud comes from my brother's room down the hall where I call out to him. "Peter!"

Peter and I used to share a room in our aunt May's house until we got older. I hear foosteps stumbling down the hall praying he doesn't wake her up. Finally I see him leaning in the doorway with part of his doorknob stuck to his other hand, covered with the same substance. "You have it to, sis?" He blurted out in whisper confused as I am. Nodding my head I rummage around for scissors in my draw cutting the webbing off my other hand. Running my hands through my hair I move one hand to the back of my neck feeling the bite from a bug yesterday when we left the lab. "Peter, I don't think that was an ordinary bite..."

"Aunt May's going to freak out about this..." My brother slumped down on my bed cutting the doorknob off his hand throwing it on the ground. He glanced my direction feeling the bump on the back of his neck too. "Maybe I can talk to someone about this...like Mr. Stark or..." Bending my head down I run my fingers through my messy hair until an idea popped into my head. "What if we become super heroes?" He whipped his head around completely taken back by my question. "What?" Intertwining my hand with his I weakly smiled to my brother. "Once we learn to control these...powers. Then we can protect this city." He wrapped his arm around my shoulders pulling me closer smiling. "Super hero team, i like it."
