"Of course Race," I replied. He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pressed me into his side. It was nice to relax from standing and taking care of the horses for hours. I rested my head in the crook of his neck and listened to the announcer start the race. The horses took off and my were they fast. I wasn't too fond of horses...which was kinda ironic, but I do admire them. They are strong, fast, and could kick your face in if they wanted.  

After a few rounds horse number 5 won, just like I predicted. It was a lean horse that has raced here before. It was very pretty, the fur was white with black specs littering it. Race stood up giving out a loud cheer while clapping. He turned and looked down at my still sitting form. He pulled me up to stand with him. He held my face in his hands and pulled me in for an abrupt kiss. I kissed back trying to match his fast pace and wrapped my arms around his neck messing with his black hair. He pulled away with a shit eating grin still resting on his face. I smiled back with a small blush, still not used to the kisses we share.

"I'm treatin ya to a nice dinna tonight," Race said pecking my lips.

"Let's go then," I replied with a giggle. I loved seeing Race win the bets, he always got so happy and I found it adorable. He went and gathered the money he won, earning some glares from the men around him. We walked to a restaurant called Tibby's and we sat down in a booth.

"You know, you'se pretty smart," Race complimented me with a smile. "I neva woulda guessed 5 would win, looked too scrawny."

I shook my head slightly with a grin, "That's were they get you to lose money. 5 may've looked scrawny, but boy is he lean. He's always been fast."

"I love ya," He said out of literally no where. This was the first time either of us said the 'l' word. It made me feel so giddy and happy that I couldn't stop the giant smile that took over my face. His eyes widened in realization and his face went deathly pale.

"I love you too silly," I giggled covering my face with my hand. I noticed he looked relieved but before he could say anything our server came by. We ordered our food and drinks and he kept glancing at me. "What, do I have something on my face?" I asked after food was placed down on the table.

"I just can't believe someone as pretty and great like you loves a guy like me," Race admitted somewhat embarrassed.

"You're being sappy," I laughed, but when he didn't laugh with me I realized he was being serious. "To be honest, I never thought someone would love me. That if anything I would be forced to marry someone for gain to my family and be miserable for the rest of my life. Then I met you."

He looked at me with love and I was looking at him like that too. I leaned over the table (I was careful to not ruin our food) and gave Race a soft and light kiss before pulling back.

"Now lets eat, I'm starving," I smiled. He smiled back and we began eating.
