So, yes, LoveHurt is a confirmed cannibal. And I think at the beginning, when Jack first learned about it before they were as close as they are now, it definitely frightened him.
It's not every day that you meet an actual cannibal HSHHD
But, over time as they got closer, Jack has learned that Kipu wouldn't actually hurt him. Every drop of blood he's given up for Kipu has been given willingly. Plus, he knows they have self control. If he cuts his finger, I doubt it would be anything detrimental.
