something on the other hellsite provoked this thought but i'll say it here too: Stone Butch Blues is such a good book, holds a special place in my heart as my first read through was the day I worked as an election observer for my shop's union vote, and it's insane to me how it gets used as a rhetorical tool in online arguments by people who have clearly never read it or at least don't understand any of it's major themes beyond lesbianism. If you walk away from that text saying "this is a lesbian exclusive book" I don't even know what to say like did the parts about recloseting and being stealth and intracommunity racism and segregation and navigating labor relations as a queer person and police brutality and solidarity above all not permeate your brain even a little.
