if she was being honest, there was a part of her that had thought she wouldn't be able to have children. perhaps that was why she and dick had felt it was okay for them to be a little reckless in bed. it wasn't until the shock started to wear off that the reality and a touch of excitement started to sink in. she and dick were going to have a baby. now she just had to tell dick the news.

she'd popped into a baby supplies store, looking for anything she could use as part of a way to tell him. she didn’t know exactly what she was looking for until she came across a pair of tiny, white baby shoes with elephants on them. immediately, she knew they were perfect, and so she snagged them without a second thought. those, along with a sonogram she'd gotten from dr. thompkins, seemed like the perfect way to announce her pregnancy to dick.
