Currently halfway through moving all 40 chapters of my decade-old fanfic, Everything, from FFnet to Ao3.
It’s been a very transformative process, I must say.
It’s kind of incredible to see how much my writing has improved in the last eleven years. Not to say I’m perfect now, I’m far from it, actually. But I was pretty young when I started writing Everything, and I started it just to practice writing. But it’s still surprising to read those early chapters now and realize just how much I have learned about writing since then. The first few chapters are so imperfect and wonky, but I can see each chapter get better, and I can see my style slowly transitioning into what it is now.
I’ll probably post a more detailed reflection on the process soon, with more of my thoughts written out. But wow. I’m proud of younger-me for starting something.
