imagine my surprise when i found out you were still alive. ( kaede @ ventress )
‘‘ what an insult darling, ’’ hand to her heart, ventress perfects her smile to a bottomless crescent; one life or nine left, the count couldn't even begin to dream her demise before she had gotten her say in it. ‘‘ it's as if you've no hope in me. ’’ according to the logistics of every bargain and hit that had been put out in the last four years, ventress had died four times, the last being at the hands of her former master. yet here she stood, undeniably alive and breathing, a daughter once more to the deathless witches.
nonetheless ... her bemusement with the fumbling separatists hadn't dwindled. the subtle hiss of her helmet reveals icy blue eyes, landlocked by the purple stripes beneath her eyes. they stand apart, booked by their speeders under the familiar, lecherous gaze of coruscant's underworld, where mercenaries and ring-lords and thieves all mingle with a clenched fist. ‘‘ besides, as you should know, it's not wise to believe everything you hear. ’’ masked beneath the metallic covering was her conniving little smile, but acknowledgement was apparent in the loose sway of her shrug, her huff of a laugh, and dip of her head. ‘‘ you could have called. come to find me all the way in hell? ’’
