Rafael Moreno Aranzadi "Pichichi" (Fuente I Patrimonio Cultural EMSIME).

Día significativo el de hoy para el fútbol español con dos aciagos sucesos que sucedieron con casi sesenta años de diferencia. En 1922 fallecía, a causa del tifus (otras versiones atribuyen su muerte a la “mala vida”) y con tan solo 30 años de edad, el vasco Rafael Moreno Aranzadi, "Pichichi", el goleador del Athletic Bilbao y la selección española de los años veinte. 

En 1921 había colgado las botas para pasarse al arbitraje. En su homenaje se denomina "Pichichi" al premio otorgado desde la temporada 1928/29 por el diario “Marca”, al goleador de la Primera División de España. Cabe destacar que el jugador era sobrino del célebre escritor Miguel de Unamuno.

En 1981 es secuestrado el jugador asturiano del Barcelona y de la selección española Enrique Castro, "Quini".  El jugador había ganado ya el Pichichi más de una vez con el Sporting y había sido adquirido ese año por el Barça por 80 millones.
