Watching the maturation of a genre that has hit a proverbial apex as it relates to rapping styles, fashion and bravado, has been interesting...especially when you hear someone say theyʼre doing something new in Hip Hop and when you research the archives...itʼs been done. Just as in basketball, everyone is looking for the new Lebron, Kobe or Jordan and you will forever have the comparisons of who was better. But just as in basketball, the game was played differently at different times. No longer do you have the block parties where whoever had the loudest sound system would normally walk away with the victory. Thatʼs been replaced with the number of twitter followers and Facebook likes.

Itʼs funny because Iʼve thought to myself what type of Hip Hop will my grandkids listen to? Because Hip Hop, just like jazz, RnB, country, etc...the genre is here to stay. Can you imagine putting your teenage grandson onto Little Brother or Rakim, Jay-Z, Biggie, or Pac. Hip Hop is ageless and Iʼm glad itʼs reached this age in time.

Iʼd listen...because I enjoy Hip Hop!
