This post was originally just supposed to be this single first screenshot but then I opened my mouth-

Those things he ends up doing aren't GREAT.... but I don't believe he's deserving of death, nor the label or characterisation of a pervert. He's.... the most awkward, reserved and careful creature I've ever seen. And definitely for a stalker, goddamn, he's NOT a yandere type, but he is very much still a stalker yes. I am not saying that just because he doesn't harm anybody physically, or beats off to the photos (I genuinely didn't get that impression in the writing?) that the act of stalking isn't fucked and fucks with you mentally.

But this post is about how pathetic of a worm he is, I'm not here to argue with anybody on the internet I've got better shit to do.... so let's focus on that.

He'd probably faint if Sam held his hand. Or looked at his hand. His dirtiest fantasy is probably them sharing the same cup cus it's an indirect kiss and he's never kissed anyone before!! I'm not pulling this outta my ass, I've been looking over the dialouge and he's so... innocent. Desperate for companionship, not just in love, but friends also (he lost his friend group ages ago and now he's completely isolated, that shit just sounds Messy As Hell and now he traps anybody who's nice to him in a photo... hey....).

Imagine if he's never been in love before cus demiromantic... and now that he's actually feeling love he's overwhelmed and it plays into his piss poor handling of it. You know. Beyond the Visitor corrupting his mind and body.

Anyway I love Lyle a lot this has been my TED talk about how he's a lil baby man loser and I don't really get the more aggressive HCs where he's just another yandere drooling and huffing upon seeing Sam... He acts like he's so small, probably because he used to be before he got twisted up... If you're having fun with that headcanon though, I'm not going to stop or question you, again I'm not here to argue.... it perplexes me, but ultimately, I understand we're all just trying to have a good time. I'm just tossing my own thoughts out there I suppose. Which are...

I really think he'd probably just freeze up and stare in awe at the perfect man.... Behold.

Also Bonus:

I feel like it's been heavily implied for a while now in certain Superman works that Lex may have literally been on the autism spectrum or have grown up with a related condition. Combine that with super genius intellect, a deeply ingrained sense of superiority and entitlement as well as emotional growth-stunting abuse, and you have a recipe for the perfect completely unstable, super villain catastrophe.

Likewise, I think it's been implied for a while now that Clark is also a representation of what being neurodivergent is like, but with the metaphor being made actual. Hence why he doesn't "feel like" an alien. He IS an alien. An alien that has had to mask what makes him different from others his entire life. With only those closest to him knowing the truth.

A perfect example of both of these concepts can be found in the first issue of the (technically...) on-going Superman miniseries Superman: The Last Days of Lex Luthor. (Same with its spiritual predecessor Superman: Birthright, if I'm being honest.)

And Fah being this painful young man who refuses to even drop the boyfriend he obviously doesn't love but is waiting to be broken up with and actively hoping he will.

Oh, the messiness.

And Tle's friend watching them from the music room with so much pain in his eyes? and Tle ready to beg Fah for anything while Fah wanders around finding one night stands?

Gear certain his love in unrequited as he watches Sherbert and Prince together but still not being willing to give up on his affection for him?

Prince worrying that he won't be loved because no one cares and worrying about how Sherbert shows affection and not seeing how Gear is trying to flirt.

General spoiler alert here, and a disclaimer. I haven’t read bnha vigilantes in full yet, just the hits and pieces I see online and the stuff from the wiki pages. If and when I read vigilantes some of these takes could change.

Now on with the show.

I base my characterization of Tsukauchi off the main story for the most part, pulling a bit of what I’ve seen from vigilantes as well as playing up certain traits that I think would have been given more focus if he wasn’t a secondary character. (I love him, he’s in my top five favorite bnha characters, but sadly he is still a secondary character who just happens to have a lot of plot purpose)

Okay so now kitsune. Kitsune starts 4 years prior to canon which means it is between 3-5 years post vigilantes. Now In vigilantes Tsukauchi says that “vigilantism is a crime” (the panel I often get asked about) and look I’m not going to argue with that, vigilantism is a crime.

However I do think following the events of the vigilantes manga Tsukauchi becomes less intense about that ideal. What I mean by that is he starts looking at the vigilante cases based on circumstantial evidence- the why the vigilantism is taking place over the general vigilantes are bad because it’s illegal.

Now it’s vigilantes are bad because they are undertrained, could face serious consequences if they step into a situation they aren’t prepared for, they could die. Vigilantism is bad because young vigilantes need help and aren’t getting it,

This is his mindset in Kitsune. This is his mindset when he makes the conscious decision to not arrest Kitsune when she is caught as a pre-teen , when he uses her status of quirkless to hedge a loophole that doesn’t exist to keep a not even thirteen year old safe.

Because Tsukauchi is and always will be a good man.

And that’s how I write him, he is a good and honest man, a justice driven man, but a good man who is willing to lie to protect the people he loves.

Tsukauchi is also objective, which I’ve discussed before in my defense post of him prior to something he said in the more recent chapters of the manga. But him being objective doesn’t take away from that fact that he’s a human, and humans are capable of change over time. They can grow and their ideas can change.

So yea, he could think that vigilantism is illegal and vigilantism is bad and still care about the vigilantes he comes into contact with. Especially post vigilante manga Tsukauchi, and especially current manga Tsukauchi. Because let’s be real here, the character we see glimpses of as a secondary character in the main bnha storyline is not quite the same as the character in the mha vigilantes line. They’re similar, still have some of the same values, but Tsukauchi has grown since vigilantes and ideals have adapted ti the knowledge he has now vs then.

I could ramble more, but it would be repetitive echoes at best- the moral of the story is I think he’s a good character, I think he’s a good man, and that show I write him. Here have some detective dad for your troubles

(Also tiny little pre-teen Kit who’s been homeless for some time vs high school aged Kit is also my favorite comparison- like look at what love and safety did)

You could easily argue that this is Tangle being mature. Putting aside how she feels, stopping herself from dwelling about the past for too long. Which is a noble trait to have to an extent.

Like, those were both instances where she saw people die (only supposedly in issue 60’s case but still). Yes, good for her that she’s pushing herself to focus on her task at hand, but like, Tangle, no one was gonna penalize you for taking 57 more seconds to cry😭

As I’ve said before, it really depends on how frequently she does this to determine how good or bad this behavior is for her.

Another thing, Tangle is known for being a very expressive, very emotional and emotionally-driven character. It’s interesting that she can also be so eager to gulp it back down when the big sad feels come up. And do it so quickly.

Although, it makes sense too. Someone who is more emotional/empathetic would have probably had to learn to reel it in sometimes after being “too dramatic”

Hopefully after all the crap she went through in Urban Warfare, she took time to talk to someone.

However, while Tangle is often interpreted as a very “wears her heart on her sleeve” type of character, she’s shown to not be incapable of keeping things to herself.

She even seemed to be embarrassed to talk about how she’s feeling with Jewel, her best friend, in front of others,

but she’s comfortable to open up when it’s just the two of them.
