I love Anthony x reader fics!!!!
Can you please do one where they both work at Smosh and are dating, but like they had gotten into a fight and the next day at work he is trying to make up with them
I know it's a weirdly specific prompt but it's similar to the short stories I write so I want to incorporate Anthony into one just to feel something lol
Anthony/You - Make Up
--
It never feels much like a problem to be dating your co-worker – or your boss – for the most part…that is, until the two of you have a fight. It was over something stupid, a bunch of small annoyances building up on both your parts until the tension broke last night over dinner and you and Anthony wound up snapping at one another until Anthony decided he should just leave for the night instead of sleeping over as was the plan.
Last night sucked. He still texted ‘good night’ but it was off, not his usual fond and silly texts that you receive from him. It isn’t even like you can escape the thoughts of the fight by throwing yourself into work because as you stand in the kitchen, pouring yourself a cup of coffee, and listening to Shayne and Courtney talk about what to make for dinner…you spot Anthony through the kitchen window, see him standing out in the cafeteria section of the office.
He notices you, of course, he does. He stands there with his water bottle, his bag, obviously just arriving for the day. His mouth quirks up into something sort of like a smile and you feel an ache squeeze through your chest.
You love him. You do. You hate fighting with him. Especially because you and Anthony don’t even really fight. The times are few and far between when it happens, and rarely does it result in yelling and hurt feelings like now.
As Shayne and Courtney take their leave, Anthony slips into the kitchen.
“Hey,” he says, his voice quiet and careful.
“Hey. How are you?”
Anthony shrugs. “I’m okay. I’m…well, I’m feeling shitty about last night.”
“I am too,” you admit, biting your lip, “it was so stupid.”
Anthony reaches out, taking your hand in his own. His touch is familiar, warm, makes you feel better even if the two of you had just fought the night before.
“I try to be a better communicator than I was last night,” he admits, sheepishly.
“I didn’t do a very good job of it either,” You admit, “I’m sorry.”
“Hey, don’t apologize…or at least let me apologize to you first.”
He cups your face, thumb smoothing over your cheekbone and you can’t help but lean into his touch. He inches closer, pulling you close, into him. You can smell him, the cologne he uses that you love, the warmth of his body. Anthony sets his forehead against yours fondly as he cups your cheeks and presses a chaste kiss to your mouth.
“I’m sorry and I love you.”
The words make your heart jump in your chest. He’s said it before, but you’ll never tire of hearing it. You do love Anthony. You love him so much that sometimes it scares you. It scares you because if you lost him, it’d feel like you’d lose everything.
“I love you too,” you whisper against his lips.
“Let me make it up to you?” Anthony asks, “a redo on dinner? Spending the night? Cherishing you like I should have last night?”
You smile, a flush creeping across your cheeks. You kiss him again, letting your arms wind around his waist, head tucked under his chin. With your ear pressed against his chest you can feel the gentle drum of his heartbeat comforting and consistent. Anthony’s arms hold you, a soft and tender embrace.
“Of course,” you say against his inky skin, “how could I say no to that?”
Anthony drops a kiss to the crown of your head and finally, reluctantly, detangles himself from you before anyone else walks in. All the other cast and crew know about the two of you but Anthony’s status as their boss does little to negate the incessant teasing that they love to throw yours and his way.
“I have a meeting with Ian, but I’ll come see you after?” Anthony says, smiling, real and fond.
You nod as you pick up your forgotten coffee cup, the warmth of the mug is a poor substitute for how you felt in Anthony’s arms, but you feel better because you two are okay. Your relationship is okay, and it will be okay.
Anthony can’t resist leaning in to press a kiss to your cheek before he pulls back, flashing a grin at you as he leaves the kitchen.
