First off, the worldbuilding is excellent, and I love the nod to the fact that astras technically don't have to be arrows; instead, they are more sources of power that can be infused into anything, even (as in the Mahabharata, famously) a piece of straw.
(Actually, this does bring up the intriguing possibility that Sita's taunt to Ravana that she can hold him off with just a blade of grass isn't just an insanely bold bluff. This is a woman who grew up surrounded by rishis--who usually are the ones to hand out the secrets to using astras--and whose husband definitely knows how to use at least a few by the point. If you go with the Adbhuta Ramayana version, where Sita takes the form of Kali to defeat Ravana's brother, it's pretty much canon.)
However, the love story bored me to tears, and the lack of female characters (Junoon, in fairness, gets to be an interesting, competent and relatively unsexualized villain--and gets promptly killed off. Isha has nothing even vaguely approaching a character arc, much less any backstory besides "being from London") honestly keeps me from working up any fervent fannish interest. Even say, Padmaavat with all its problems, had multiple female characters with different points of view; Brahmastra: Part 1 really lacks that for me.
But Amrita in Part 2 absolutely looks poised to change all that--and Deepika in particular can pull it off, I suspect.
Final pedantic point: I know why they kept it this way (name recognition, of course) but the Brahmastra isn't actually the most powerful weapon in the epics--it's the Brahmashira, which is the one that Arjuna and Ashwattama are using at the end of the Mahabharata, and the one that Krishna and the other gods literally forbid them to use because it's so destructive. That said, there's been a lot of use of more obscure weapons, so this might be a plot twist for movie 3? But anyway, just saying.

Watching Anastasia (one of my favs) and thinking about how I always had a crush on Dimitri. Then, I thought about my other imaginary kid crushes. Aladdin, Robin Hood, Wesley from the Princess Bride. Apparently, I've always had a thing for thieves and con artists. I'm not sure what to do with this revelation.
Why the heck did Disney decide to make Tinker Bell the protagonist of her own series of movies? She literally tried to murder a child for no reason! What Disney executive thought: “Hey, this fairy almost killed an innocent little girl. Let’s make her the main character of a whole series and market it to children!”
If they’re going to go that route, I want to see Tinker Bell’s corruption arc. How did this sweet little fairy with a friend group who loves her turn into someone so obsessed with Peter Pan that she’s willing to kill any new friend he makes in cold blood?
Heck, she’s not even willing to kill ANY new friend of Peter’s. She has no problem with John and Michael, or any of the Lost Boys. It can’t even be just because Wendy’s a girl, because Peter’s also friends with the mermaids, and Tinker Bell never goes after them. She just saw Wendy and randomly decided that kid needed to die.
