If you haven’t seen much from us on TikTok this week, that’s why. Our recent post celebrating and supporting Trans Day of Visibility was shadowbanned.

It’s nothing new: TikTok has long flagged words like lesbian, gay, transgender—alongside posts about genocide, social justice, and political resistance—burying them under the opacity of “safety guidelines.”

What’s changed is the scale and precision—now with TikTok under the control of Larry Ellison (Trump bff and one of the architects of the surveillance ecosystem), today’s moderation systems are AI-automated with a new agenda.

We’ve already seen posts muted or made unsearchable for using innocuous language—terms like anti-capitalist, fascism (anything the administration aims to deem “domestic terrorism”), even the word "censorship" itself.

We’re not deleting anything, and we’re not softening our language to appease the algorithm. And we’re especially not walking back our support—thank you to everyone who helped us raise funds last week for Trans Lifeline and the ACLU.

A huge part of our community gathers on platforms like TikTok and X. We share work and updates there; we support creators there—many of them queer writers who are still making content and will not disappear.

We just wanted to mention how fucked it is that one of the largest creative platforms is silencing queer language and the politics of liberation: this is blatant censorship being passed off as "content moderation."

And as someone who is currently writing a book where the two main characters and the main relationship is gay I’m a lil scared.

I’m don’t identify as gay or a man, I identify as AroAce Agender. I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on this? I’ll probably write the story anyways (worst case I’ll keep it to myself), but I would like to know of other peoples opinions on this.

Not permitted to meet the prince, and knowing nothing about him beyond the cruel nature of the demon king, the son anxiously awaits his fate for the two weeks his family is permitted to stay in the demon kingdom.

When the day finally arrives, he stands in the grand and bloodstained ceremonial chamber and waits for his would-be husband.

A hush falls. A curtain is drawn. The prince enters.

And the uncertain son realises that he is, in fact, quite familiar with the unknown prince.

"Reinaldo Arenas was a member of the Cuban Revolution. Born into poverty, he joined the movement at the age of sixteen with hopes of overthrowing Cuba’s ruler, Fulgencio Batista. He believed that he was aiding in transforming his country into a place of freedom and peace for all. While the revolution began to gain support and power, however, Arenas slowly became disillusioned. Reinaldo was a gay man, so learned the freedom the revolution promised was not meant for him."
