HAPPY INTERNATIONAL ASEXUALITY DAY 2025!!
First of all, I'd like all of you to remember that asexuality is a spectrum and that's super awesome because there are so many different experiences and identities that fall into the ace umbrella and that makes our community a great party. Unfortunately, it's not rare to find ourselves using the formula of "I'm asexual BUT ..." which ALWAYS throws a part of our awesome community under the bus, so let's stop doing that, ok? We are asexuals, and if the other person we are talking to relates it to whatever of the set of acephobic opinion they may have, maybe they need to educated themselves, and we are not doing that by sacrificing our fellow ace pals.
Second of all, you know I have plenty of OCs that fall in the ace spectrum, but since the second arc of my webcomic started a few weeks ago, this time I'm focusing my post on the ace charas of DEMON HUNTER HAGAN!
HAGAN, he/him, in his 40s, he is your sex-repulsed and very virgin asexual activist and main character of DEMON HUNTER HAGAN. In arc one you have a few mentions about his sex-repulsion, including funny faces of him absolutely not tolerating any comment about it, but don't be confused he is very sex-positive and advocates for sex education that includes asexuality. It's just that the man finds it so gross and needs a moment to prepare himself to talk about it, but only theoricaly, don't tell him about your personal experience and don't ask him about his because it's nobody business what he thinks about when he masturbates, ok? Also, he is biromantic and has a long distance relationship with his boyfriend Allan. In arc three they'll talk about the negotiation of their relationship and check from time to time if they are comfortable or need to talk about it again. For instance, he enjoys kissing Allan a lot, and he is the king of hugs. I'm super excited about drawing that part.
PURESOUL, he/him, your disabled gay demisexual somewhere in the aromantic spectrum but who prefers not to use tags for his complex experience. He is the main character in arc two and finds it veeeery difficult to talk about anything related to traditional romantic relationships. He just can't understand it. And that puts him in a difficult situation since he longs for a partner but can't really figure out what he wants and what he doesn't want of a relationship. He will talk about it in arc two, but the pages are not yet published so can't link it yet. Unlike Hagan, he has no problem with sex, he even can enjoy it without feeling sexual attraction towards his partner, but he needs to feel platonic attraction to accept the deal. On the other hand, he will never ever show any affection in public, not even holding hands. And he will feel some repulsion to others showing their affection in public. He is a complex man, somewhere in the autism spectrum too.
PRINCE FIREOPAL, they/them, is a mysterious character from Puresoul's past who appears briefly in arc two and will appear again in arc three. They are your visually impaired aroace sorcerer king. They are the kind of asexual who totally forgets they live in an allosexual world until there is a mention about sex and then their brain explodes like "people do whaaaaaat?????" but they don't feel repulsion towards sex exactly, it's just that they couldn't care less about it and would rather talk about important stuff. They do feel very strong platonic attraction and has a queerplatonic relationship with a time-traveler who got lost somewhere, a bit of a tragic story, but Fireopal patiently waits for him. Fireopal used to be very shy about physical contact but they changed over the years.
And that's the asexual cast of my webcomic. They are so different from each other and I love them all so much and hope people can relate to my OCs and find the representation we deserve. We need more asexual characters written by asexual creators.
