Ah also I reached Irithyll in my DS3 playthrough. Getting into a place properly is always benefical to lore reading. Like I don't get how people can say that woman statue is Gwynevere, consider how her statues are placed next to the priest statues in Central Irithyll bonfire. Have you seen the way Gwynevere, NK's or Gwyndolin's statues are placed in DS1.
They would NOT be put on the same level with priest statues, they have to be on the most honored place! Just look at Pointiff's bossroom, oh yknow what, the altair for Ring of the Sun's Firstborn. The god family always distinguishes themselves from humans!! Like the elevators after O&S boss fight, Ornstein can not fit in the smaller one, that one is for human, it's segregation!!
"But she has the bow-" The Firstborn's statue at Sunlight Altair wears (almost) identical clothes as Gwyn's, down to the patterns. Children wearing the same clothing style as their parent is nothing new, especially if the parent is from royal family.
The most possible answer for that statue imo is Queen of Lothric, from whom everyone expects to birth the new Lord of Cinder (her pregnant belly). This is just my personal read but I feel they're criticizing her for not being to produce a proper heir too, as her hands look like she should be embracing a child but she doesn't, symbolize how her child Lothric refused to link the flame, and she looks sad also. It reads like frustration and blaming the woman for how the child turned out to me, contrast to how the goddess statues in Dark Souls 1 (which my read is Gwynevere and Chosen Undead) was smiling.
Even more evidence for Fina and Gwynevere connection
This is a quite detailed and well-researched video, explaining Celtic myths inspiration behind Fina and Gwynevere! Like for example, concept of Sovereign Goddess applies to both, and certainly describes Fina handing so many rings that yet break upon removal
It also turns out that Finnavere (?) and Guinevere are Irish and Welsh variants of the same name and concept, and name Juniper is directly etymologically connected! It is also the same name mentioned by Chester out of blue in English script in the manner of swearing to God, which is an addition SO random it just had to be an agreement between writers and translator! Chester is also from the future, and print on Fina's ring depicts some berries and Juniper is a type of a berry used to make gin which was believed to heal diseases, and all three characters can create healing drink (Fina is connected with Estus)... there is so many
Watch the video because paraphrasing core points doesn't do a justice to the detail and research in it! At this rate I am sure that Juniper is the name for Queen of Lothric that works the best, too
Frampt can't stand Seath, Shira and Priscilla are both descended from Seath, Shira has some family resemblance to Gwynevere, Yorshka looks quite a bit like Shira and has physical features indicating her to be descended from Seath, "maiden of Gwynevere" might actually mean "female descendent" (not sure on this one, haven't read the original Japanese), Lothric was produced by "unspeakable means" through Oceiros' identification with Seath, Gwyndolin, despite having very easy access to Seath's sorceries and using Logan sorceries quite proficiently, never touched Crystal Sorcery in his life, Seath spent an inordinate amount of time torturing the Maidens of Gwynevere, the "Power of the Moon" might actually refer to the Moonlight Greatsword, thus being related to dragons, snakes are imperfect dragons, a massive taboo around Seath and Seath Worship is maintained through the series, the only named characters Seath abducts (Reah, Dusk, and Sieglinde) are women, the Queen of Lothric left Oceiros after giving birth to Ocelotte (a "child of dragons, who looks a bit like Priscilla"), we still don't know how Yorshka is descended from both Gwyn and Seath, and Yorshka seems to have relied on similar invisible bridges to guide people to her tower to what you find in the Crystal Cave.
I feel like I am going insane.
@lothricsage's Queen of Lothric
I really wanted to draw her for a while now, also, please ignore my delusions.
