Was definitely an interesting old novel that he was in. Basically Scientist doing genetics experiments trying to create a controllable super soldier alien, also with the idea of being able to tame other drones. And when the Queen becomes aware of The Rogues existence she instigates a challenge to him via some form of ESP causing him to break out of containment and go smashing through the base to challenge her.

Kleist the Scientist who created the Rogue follows intending to see his creations climatic triumph over the Queen because the Alien King is bigger and stronger, the superior specimen.

But...kind of gets a rude awakening when he finds out the Rogue is not completely superior to the Queen. The Queen while smaller than the Genetically Engineered Rogue is also Faster, more agile, and more intelligent. She basically spends the whole fight avoiding the Rogue’s attacks and slowly wearing him down before eventually slaughtering him, proving that she is the Superior Specimen.
