Quatre grows up believing that he's CAMAB, which grates for reasons perhaps related to his family relationships. Once he begins Operation Meteor, he finds brotherhood with the other Gundam pilots — specifically the gendered brotherhood, not a neuter siblinghood — and so comes to view himself as transmasc.
