#madness combat #fd_art #fd_mail #quartermaster bert #madness combat deimos #why not. i like these doodles so they can get character tags #honestly qberts design doesn't have a whole lot to work with so i sorta made things up based on a few loose ideas i wanted to crack at #obvious re4 merchant being the biggest as well as incorporating qberts stupid ass hat. plus i had this thought in my head that #qbert is a little mysterious. cunning and a bit sleazy but exceptional at his job - obscuring his eyes felt like it played perfectly into #the persona i had imagined. plus it gave him more of a distinct facial trait like the other characters have #ahh how to explain.. like for him what presents first is the job. money is security and guns are his specialty as well as his safety. so #having the glasses obfuscate his eyes is a rather direct representation of that 'separation'. he is a quartermaster #'bert' if that even is his name. known well enough that bossman would employ his services and he speaks little about himself #who knows. you could make up a ton from there but those were the thoughts that sprung to mind when i made that super quick #initial draft where i wanted to incorporate at least a few interesting bits n pieces as opposed to. guy with cap #(which i've intentionally retained anyway. beneath all that armour and layered coat and hood and guns is some dude in #a hoodie and goddamn sneakers. it's probably really stuffy for him in there!)#more diverse traits are fun! there's so much you could explore when it comes to grunt designs. i've been really enjoying seeing people #experiment with different facial cross patterns. i had never thought of that and it feels like a really clever idea #thank youuu for the ask ^v^ i always enjoy talking in this way - thoughts rambling in tags appended to doodles or questions #and your words are very kind!!! endeared very much by how often people say they are chewing on art heheh #i gotta find one of them OC question ask game things...
