I think this conversation was very telling and unintentionally foreshadowed the end of Gilded and beginning of LE. Its honestly amazing how Wyll's mindset hasnt changed about his own friendships / relationships because. TO BE HONEST. This is exactly why people misunderstand him and his motives. He just isnt very good at explaining it ...

The whole conversation Wyll has with Mugm about the difference between good friends and good teammates has an important distinction to him (and quite literally only him, hes pretty weird). later on, Quakitus talks about how Wyll taught him that friendships were "transactional" because that was the message Wyll was basically communicating to him when Gilded broke up. They really COULDVE stayed friends in another timeline 😭😭😭

To share a same goal is to work together and achieve it together. Q didnt have the same goals, less a goal at ALL that Wyll could help with -> leads to breaking the "mutually beneficial" rule that Wyll values in a friendship. He really did care about Q and wanted to help him with something in return since Q has helped him so much too. At the time, Q lacked a sort of goal or drive and it frustrated Wyll which is what led him to believe that being TEAMMATES was pointless (+ Quakitus' paranoia). Neither of them were gaining anything because Q's concern and Wyll's disdain grew towards each other at the same time. Wyll realized he cant help Q, he cant quell any of Q's fear, the narrative is ingrained into Q's head, Quakitus isnt getting any better with him sticking around, so he left.

Wyll also claims they can still be friends -> the "enjoyable people" aspect. Its very blatantly obvious that Wyll did love prime Gilded. He was quite literally the one who ASKED Q and Alrey to be apart of their new goal (the dragon egg) and it continued with the other mythics and fighting Mugm and all of that. Wyll truly considered Q one of his closest friends, they practically did everything together. He wanted to stay friends because he liked Quakitus for... well. Being Quakitus. Its just unfortunate that they couldnt sort it out since Wyll is now teammates with Mugm -> LE formation of sharing both goals and enjoying each others presence -> Q's constant paranoia (and also later, the final conversation where Wyll claims Q calls him non-human yadayada IDONTACTUALLYREMEMBER)

okay long yap post idk I just thought it was really interesting that Wyll like. Just. Has not changed at all! That says a lot about him ! You know what I mean ?
