Take me back to Yesterday
Everyday is a gift as what everyone says. Everyday is another day worth living. Everyday is different day because we face and meet new things, transpirations, and feelings. We never know what will happen today and tomorrow, we only need to have faith and trust that it will turn our well.
Ever since I started to live here in the city of Quezon and study at New Era University, everything changed for me. I lived almost my whole life in the premises of my parents' house and together with them. I used to be very dependent to them. They'd wake me up, get the food ready for me, prepare my clothes for school then kiss me goodbye and goodluck every morning during school days. But just like the famous quote states, "the only thing permanent in this world is change". Indeed change caught up to me, and swallowed me to its dimension. It made me its victim.
From a life of a prince or someone of royal blood, to a life of a solitary being with only himself to depend on, I faced this life with what I had, with what I can. It wasn't easy to adjust to this new environment. With people being not-so-ideal, with the busy and detrimental places here, you never know what awaits you in your next step in this scape.
I did what I had to do. I had to take this road and go towards the future even if I have no foresight of what is ahead. I was audacious and luckily things escalated well for me. I met new friends on my first day here, I learned new things about how cruel life is and how to cope up with it, and I learned to appreciate the little things we see in our horizon. I learned to behold the beauty of the sky.
My daily life goes like this. First I wake up at 5:30 am then prepare for school. I usually leave the house at 5:50 am then walk towards the end of the street to ride a jeepney or a trycicle. While I am walking I always see this baby in his stroller, about 2 years old. He's a chubby and cheerful baby who always smiles and is greeted by almost everyone who walks at the street. He is really super cute especially when he smiles revealing his teeth. As I walk, I also glance at the sky, enjoying the sunrise every morning as it marks a new day to venture.
I then ride the jeepney or trycicle twice to get to school. When I arrive, I walk towards our room. It is a very long walk before getting to our classroom located at the 5th floor the reason why even during our first subject, we all look very stressed out and tired already. As I reach fhe 5th floor I always see this majestic view at the window. I always see how the rays of the sun illuminates the enormous city of Quezon. Everything looks so bright and brilliant especially the Central Church of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. Every morning, this view lightens me up.
Then classes start, we study, comply to our teachers and school works. At 9am and sometimes 11am we eat at the main canteen 2. Me together with 10 of my classmates. We're a group in our room. Then go back to the classroom to attend the next class. Classes usually end at 1:30 pm and during that time, we don't go home yet. Sometimes we'd just hang out outside the room or go down to rockwell then just chat about everything. I usually start to go homr at 2pm and I walk to the public together with Omar, Kaye, Deejay, Aj, and Nicha.
I will again ride the jeepney twice before I arrive at the end of our street and I usually get down the jeepney at 3pm. As I walk home, I see cats in numbers and I always take pictures of them and again, this uplifts my tired spirit. As I arrive home, I put my bag down, take off my clothes and get changed, then sleep. On the evening, I eat dinner at the next street then go home then do my school requirements. I usually sleep at 12am because of how many things needed to be done are.
Well that's how my life goes. Some may find it boring because everything happens the same but for me, no. It's a typical life but I learned how to make the most out of it and maximize my happiness by sharing it to others. I have my friends to enjoy my life with and make memories with. I have my phone to take pictures of my interest and keep it as inventory. I have my eyes to behold the skies and people and the mind and heart to enjoy every single of it. And above all, I have faith in God that he is the one who will always guide and safeguard me.
Everyday is a different day. To my life, some may see it as monotonous life with no color to enjoy, but no. Every day is a different day and I enjoy the every single day of my life even if mixed emotions come at me, even if sometimes I feel so sad and miss my old life, I still enjoy my life and I always wish that I can turn back time and go back to yesterday.
