I am just screaming into the void tonight. My mouth is in pain because I am missing four teeth.
Let's talk about the side characters.
Pym in my personal opinion one of the best characters on that show. She's cute, funny, super friendly and just baby in general. Her scenes are funny and exactly what you would expect a TV-14 arthurian legend retelling to have. Sad scenes, funny scenes, stressful scenes. Just generally wholesome shit. Healing vikings the best that she can and flirting with Dof while also being such a dork is so cute.
Kaze is a fantastic mentor, there should have been more of Kaze teaching Nimue instead of Merlin. She's smart, strong, has a very pretty voice. She has that single rich aunt vibe to her. She's just such a strong character, she's got combat experience, is more trustworthy, has leadership skills as well. In general a great role model. Think uncle Iroh but with fangs and a sword
Morgana is a very interesting character, her tension with Arthur for being dropped into a convent. Her distaste for authority and general demeanor are fantastic. She is a great lancer for Nimue in the way that she pushes Nimue into the role she needs to take. Morgana really follows the speak softly and carry a big stick motto and I love her for that.
Summary: Pym’s happily ever after was never in the cards.

A/N: Did anyone ask for an angsty ficlet about Pym after she loses Dof? No. Am I doing it anyways? Yes. There be no happy endings here, folks.

Pym watched as black smoke began to spill from the pyre, the ominous color fitting for her mood. Dof was gone, struck down fighting someone else’s war, and now she was forced to say her final goodbyes.
In Pym’s mind he deserved a far grander farewell, one where the men he had fought beside raised a drink up in his honor and sent him off for a burial at sea deserving of a Viking warrior, but in the end, it was just her. Jut her, a short pyre on the grounds of a village that meant nothing to him and the canteen of ale that had been her constant companion since his death.
Guilt weighed heavy on her heart as she settled against an ancient tree, green eyes focused solely on the motionless body of the man that held her heart. What kind of healer was she if she couldn’t even save the life of her lover.
She couldn’t help but chuckle morbidly at the thought; it was Dof’s fault that she was a healer in the first place.
As the flames licked upwards along the dry brush, Pym took a deep pull from the canteen, the ale bitter on her tongue but she drank anyways. She’d thought she had a good grasp of loss after watching her entire village come under attack, but she hadn’t begun to truly understand it until now. The emptiness that swallowed her after Dof had taken his last breath was all consuming. It was as if all the light that had been in her life before was snuffed out with him and now, she was doing nothing but stumbling around in the dark, in search of something that would never be found. She felt like a ship without sails, stranded in the middle of the ocean with no destination; simply existing without a purpose.
Fingers still stained with his blood, Pym ran her thumb over the amulet that hung loosely from her neck. Why hadn’t the stupid fool just stayed away from her; he would probably still be alive if he had. Dof had given her Sigurd as protection, but in doing so had left himself open and it had cost him his life. A lump formed in her throat, if it hadn’t been for her, none of this would have come to pass.
Resting her head against the rough bark, Pym watched the embers dance in the dusky sky, the crackling and popping of the wood the only sound to keep her company. If she tried hard enough, she could almost feel his arms around her, the warmth of his skin against hers as he ran a calloused hand along her arm or tucked her hair behind her ear in an intimate show of affection. She could almost picture the cheeky grin he gave her before heading off the ship and relive the feeling butterflies in her stomach anytime his lips touched hers.
For the first time since his death, Pym didn’t stop the tears from falling when they came. Life was a fickle bitch and Pym was tired of pretending that everything would work itself out. She was tired of fooling herself that every misstep, every loss, every weird adventure she found herself on was just a bump on the road and that she was destined for some happily ever after.
Taking another pull from her canteen, Pym swiped at the tears that tracked down her cheek. No, there would be no happily ever after for her; her happily ever after was sitting atop the burning pyre and there was nothing she could do to change that.

Summary:
“You know,” Pym says. “I’ve never seen the sea. Not before my village burned, anyway. Didn’t see much of it on your ship, was too busy healing people. Fear of death kinda ruins the view.”
I came to save you. I came to rescue you and your people, but mostly for you. You’re a better view than a thousand seas, You think. This is not what you say. “Are you going to thank me for saving you?”
What rotten luck to be found by Cumber's raiders, alone in the woods. And Pym hadn't been able to scream, dragged away so quickly she hadn't even known what was happening. She'd pieced it together well enough in the last hour or so whilst feigning unconsciousness, of course. Cumber's men never really knew when to shut up.
Now though? Now they know she's awake...
Pym bares her teeth and bites the hand that tries to gag her, hard. Hands rag painfully through her knotted hair, drag her head back sharply. She refuses to open her mouth, tongue laced with the blood of the Raider she bit... The struggle and panic flares like a caged bird in her chest as he clamps that injured hand over her nose, to force her to open her mouth...
Pym tries, she really does. She glares up at the sadistic smile upon the Raider's face, angry, defiant, unbroken. Like she'd learned from her friends. She swallowed the panic mixing with bloody copper and holds her breath, refusing to bend, she cannot, will not allow them to do this. Someone will find her. Gawain, Gawain will save her.
She ignores the fact that they probably haven't even noticed she's missing yet.
Fingers pry at the corner of her mouth again, and she's held firm by the grip in her hair, still holding her breath, no, no, NO...
Her lungs are burning. Nimue was always better at holding her breath than she was. She remembers how they used to swim together in the lake near Dewdenn, though Pym was no bad swimmer herself Nimue took to the waters like a fish... A tear leaks from her eye, greif, despair; Nimue would have freed her, too.
The hands are more insistent now, that grip on her nose was so harsh it's painful, her nose even began to bleed. Pym can feel blood coating the back of her throat and she's clenching her jaw so hard her teeth are about to crack, her body buckling and crumbling. She needs to breathe, needs to open her mouth--
And finally Pym has no choice, abandoned to her body and mind's own reflex to gasp in a breath, yet the moment she does the balled up rag is shoved into her mouth before she even gets a chance to breathe, more and more fabric rammed in so far it hurts, jaw straining and aching and all the while that fucking hand never leaves her nose, she still can't breathe-- blind panic surges through her as she fights with everything she has to drag in air but theres no way to through the thick cloth, no movement of her mouth even left, just pitiful whimpers in her throat that choke off into silence.
Blackness edges her vision and still he doesn't let go. Tears of pain and panic and desperation slick her cheeks, the foul man leans in close, licking across her skin with a noise of approval like Pym's tears are the best fucking thing he's ever tasted. Pym's body spasms, eyes rolling back, every instinct to survive screaming out all at once and- -blissful nothingness takes over.
I don't write near enough Lady Whump so figured it was about time I included some here! Slight different writing style for this, more of a present tense than usual! I wrote something for the prompt "gagged" a while ago on here in response to a prompt on someone else's post and decided to rewrite it for this.
I ADORE Pym. She is my fave, and I'm definitely going to have to write those Raiders getting their asses handed to them for this...
