my partner was reading the wiki article for the Puppy Linux distro and i was inconsolable by the end. the word puppy used as a proper noun is enough to undo me. Puppy is very small and this makes Puppy ideal for use on machines with low CPU. Puppy is small,,

Trying out partitioning and dual booting on an old 2011 Toshiba satellite laptop my beloved best friend gifted to me like a year ago
It's a Toshiba Satellite L755 that I swapped it's 256GB HDD drive for a 1TB one. It's currently running bookwormPup and I'm thinking of adding either MX Linux or Arch to the other partition. Dunno yet. Should I add a swap partition too? I've heard it is useful for old computers.
It also has the boot and HDD restore partitions from Windows, but idk if I can erase those at all. Probably can, but I don't want to risk it too much
Slacko Hammer - thrift finds - used live bootable CD of Slacko Linux operating system, containing a digital copy of a Mike Hammer tv movie starring Stacy Keach

My understanding of Lubunto Vs Puppy before I started this little experiment was that lubunto was for people who didn't want to commit to something like puppy. now having used both I think I was kind of right. if your computer is slowing down cuz it's like 5 to 10 years old and was never super high quality to begin with Lubunto will probably serve you well without you having to give up too many luxuries. but if you're like me and the computer is like at least 15 years old probably just jump to fossapup.
Of course if its the first and you're still ON windows you could probably try something like base Ubuntu or mint or ziron first and give up even less luxuries. I think the average windows user will like Ziron the best.
