âFinished.â Dolce slowly removed her knitting needles, and held up her finished product; a turquoise cashmere scarf with a calligraphic style âLâ at the end of it. A smile spread across her face as she gently folded the scarf into a small square, and placed it into a box. She immediately took the box, wasting no time as she sped-walked towards the Bell Hotel. The mission was simple: leave the box at the front desk and walk away. It had gone successfully when she gave Forte the gift. It shouldnât be that much of a difference.
Dolce opened the door with her foot and headed for the desk.
âMy, what do we have here~?â
She froze immediately.
ââŚâ
âWell? Your intrusion must have some reason behind it.â
She turned around, only to find Leon sitting on a couch in the lobby, fanning himself.
âGoodâŚmorning, Leon. I didnât expect you to be awake.â
âMay I askââ
âAbsolutely not!â
ââŚwhatâs in the box?â
ââŚMedicine.â
âDonât those come in pill bottles?â Leon snapped his fan shut, stood up, and began to approach her.
âMind your business!â The girl hissed as she hugged the box closer to her body.
âDolce. You are a terrible liar. Whatâs in the box?â
âNosy little ingrate, arenât you?â Dolce sighed irritably, opened the box, and pulled out the scarf. She wrapped it around his neck and took a step back to admire her work. âThere. It doesnât look awful on you.â
âYour words wound me, Dolce. Thatâs not very ladylike~â
âDo youâŚlike it?â
âItâs not entirely horrible.â
âGee, that sounds awfully familiar.â
Leon smiled and loosened the scarf a bit. âIn all seriousness, thank you.â
âWell, I suppose that was a bust. I should try this out with Margaret.â
âAw, so Iâm not special enough to be the only one to receive a Dolce original?â
âYouâre starting to annoy me, and itâs not even noon.â And with that, Dolce left, feeling an odd mix of fulfillment and disgust.
