what is the AU about? how did punznap meet? is it similar to how dream and sapnap meet in the other alien au?

Dgsjkjdknjsn sorry this took me so long to get to!

The au is about humanity, who at this point has colonised various star systems, coming under the threat of a much more powerful alien species who sees most other biological creatures as just food. Sapnap is part of a crew racing through space trying to find a way to escape, protect, or hide humanity. On their travels they come across a star system covered with remnants of a battle between their enemy and a different intelligent species that they’ve never come across before. Based on the wrecks drifting in space the battle seemed to have been pretty equally matched so the humans get pretty hopeful they might be able to find some useful tech to use, but before they can find anything they’re shot down by an enemy ship laying in wait.

Sapnap survives the crash, landing on a nearby planet. He pretty quickly finds traces of another civilisation, but everything seems to have either been destroyed or abandoned for years. He tries to get in contact with the rest of the crew but only gets one signal. His communicator is also broken, unable to record calls or send texts, so he’s forced to communicate with the other survivor by pictures and small scribbled doodles and signs (touch screen is messed up to the point he can’t really write intelligibly so he mostly just use arrows or circles on the pictures he sends). By doing this they manage to communicate their locations and a path to meet up.

"Sleep Potion basically. With some luck it will finally let me rest a bit." Punz answers, their gaze not wavering from the bubbling pot as they add some more powder in it and continue stirring.

Sapnap considers asking at first what's stopping them from just sleeping but can already guess a plethora of answers. From anxieties to just the body not letting them sleep. So instead he asks the one with easier answers."What's in it?"

"Milk, some spores of a night shroom, a dried and cut up eyeblossom and some phantom scale powder," they answer. Their voice sounds tired, combined with the way Punz's body is looking as if weighed down by something, Sapnap can only hope as well that this potion would work. Although one thing confuses him.

"Wait. i thought eyeblossoms cause nausea when digested? You stopped me from putting some in our soup just last week." Sapnap comes up behind Punz, peering into the pot from over their shoulder and watching a soft purple swirl mix into the dark blue. He lays his head on them, unbothered by the slight jostling as they continue stirring.

"Normally, yeah. When dried out however, they can have a more tiring effect, especially when put into warm milk like this. Add in the rest and boom, sleep effect." The two colours have by now mixed well together, creating a hue that's still very much as dark blue as the night sky but with a slight shift towards purple. It looked nice. Pretty.

Sapnap closed his eyes, just hanging onto his roommate and tangling their tails together. His leathery draconic tail wrapped around Punz's furred snowleopard one. "If you say so."

"I found the recipe on a note in that one journal and those notes have never betrayed me."

"Even when you made that-"

"We agreed not to bring up the hair potion accident again."
