Seeing how Vil was pm the Evil Queen in his book and Hercules in Idia's, it got me thinking if any of the other characters got a similar duality going on
Like in book 2 it wouldn't be a stretch to say Riddle and the rest of Heartslabyul were the Nala, Timon, and Pumba to Yuu/Grim/Jack's Simba (ignore actual twisted Simba)
Book 3, you could consider Jack Flounder by virtue of being alongside Yuu and Ruggie being Scuttle by giving information to the freshmen, and Leona was like King Triton with him destroying Azul's contracts a Ariel's grotto
Book 4 I think we can pm say Azul was Genie with the way he ruined Jamil's plans
Book 5 the NRC tribe was pm the seven dwarves (Vil teaching everybody a skincare routine was a twst take on Snow White telling the dwarves to wash up)
And I think we can easily say Idia was Prince Phillip with how he helped out the point of riding into thorn ridden Diasomnia and taking out Malleus's horn himself

I think this is a really interesting idea and I like it in theory, but I’m not totally sure if Twst did this intentionally. Some of these comparisons are just way too loose to seem like they went in with this entirely planned out. For example, I don’t think Jack simply being present in book 3 is enough to qualify him as a Flounder stand-in… Other instances, however, are very in-your-face about it (like how Jamil literally calls Azul his “genie of the lamp” in book 4). Kinda goofy thinking about how Prince Phillip’s horse was replaced by Idia’s fucking magical motorcycle though 😭
