#pull yourself together

Derek family is very lightly pushing him to really look for a partner. Especially his mother. His sisters have began introduce him to other ladies of the court. He feels nothing for the flutterings of the court, and if he has to stand and listen to another woman tell him that they would bare him an alpha son he was going to throw himself off the balcony. His mother's prized roses be damned.

He considers finding someone to pretend to court just to get his family off his back. There were a bunch of ladies that his sisters introduced to him, lady paisley? Paige? seemed nice. But Derek immidelty dismisses the idea, he might not want to marry at the moment but that doesn't mean he should hurt another persons reputation to get out of his responsibilities

(At first this was my main idea, was to have Derek pretend to court stiles, and slowly fall in love with him while stiles is using Derek to gain attention at court so he may marry but I can't do angst right now and Derek is not going to hide his obsession with stiles)

He generally spends the next ball trying to run away from his family, the court, just anyone in general. In his haste for some air to breathe, he nearly bowls over a young man in the corner of the room. A boy with the most captivating eyes he's ever seen.

Derek immediately asks to court him, it is actually the first thing he says. Doesn’t even ask for a name, honestly. A back and forth conversation ensure, Derek eventually asks for his name, eventually. Stiles declares that Derek has his permission to court him. But he must also get his father’s.

The evening ends and the next morning Derek gets to work on the best courting the country has even seen. His mother and sisters are absolutely ecstatic.

However the courts like to talk and his declaration of courting has drawn the curious glance of other suitors. Some wonder how a wallflower like Stilinski has captivated the heart of the unmoveable Derek hale. Others see his hesitation and think it would be a great chance to steal a beloved item out from Derek hales hands.

(Of course his family tries to make him feel better. Derek far out ranks any of those other suitors and so he will chosen by stiles. Peter says something about Derek is a hale and a hale must never lose. Derek is pretty sure Cora is drawing up battle plans)

And stiles finds out that Derek was pressured into courting someone by his family and thinks it won't be a love match. So he starts to entertain the other suitors and it drives Derek up the wall.

Happy Wednesday all! I’m having another banger week; yesterday I successfully caught a momma cat in the sleeting rain after the finder wouldn’t let us leave her kittens out for her—“I’ll throw them in the dumpster,” was what they told Animal Control, I believe. Lovely. But I brought her back with me and reunited her with her feisty 3-week-old litter. Then, this Friday some colleagues and I are taking a field trip to a local casino for the sole purpose 😇 of sussing out their catios. We’re revamping the ones here at the shelter and I am indescribably psyched to be coming up with plans; it’s going to look so good!

Having said that, I haven’t done much writing, but I do have a little bit of the final (it better be) chapter of Pull Yourself Together that I can share. Simon and Baz are having a pretty good week, too. Thanks for the tags, @jyae23, @rimeswithpurple, @facewithoutheart, and @youarenevertooold!

I can’t stop kissing Baz. I’ve kissed him until my mouth was sore and kept coming back for more—and he seems to like it, because he lets himself melt into my arms whenever I pull him close. I pull him close in the mornings when we’re getting ready, and kiss him so hard that we’re both rumpled and late for breakfast. I pull him close in between classes, surprising him from doorways and niches in the wall—I kiss him up against columns and tapestries, walls and windows, and I’m always pulling him closer. I don’t have to pull him close in the bed, but I do anyway—I can’t be too close, I’d hold him so tight that I’d pull him into me, if I could.

I’m starving for him, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to get enough.
