âNo, no, no, no, no,â Toudou repeated, his heart hammering in his chest, all because, once again, Arakita had failed to listen to him, speeding off into the heavy downpour like an idiot, âPlease be okay,â he whispered to himself as he dismounted, tossing his bike to the side and running over to where Arakita had disappeared over the guardrail.
It took him only seconds to reach Arakitaâs motionless form, but it felt like ages to Toudou - That idiot, that stupid idiot - and, when he finally fell to his knees beside him, he could barely steady his shaking hands enough to place one of them over his boyfriendâs heart.
Two terrifying seconds passed and then he felt it, a thumping against his palm and, just when the tears heâd been holding back started to fall, Arakita blinked open his eyes, wincing as he moved to place his hand over Toudouâs on his chest, âI know, I know,â he said, voice hoarse, âYou were right.â

Sorry I know this is unsolicited but this is in response to the anon about feeling slow in algebra 1 8th grade- I was slow at maths in school and never understood anything, and everyone knew it. I felt really inadequate and sad. But I ended up studying a microbiology degree overseas- don't be too hard on yourself now! Don't compare yourself to others. Things will work out, you have time. âĽ
