Incomplete List of Peak in the Sisters Grimm show (only season 1 bc there's only 1 season go watch it a million times so we get more):
- Sabrina speaking the first line of the first book
- Ms Smirt being portrayed as less cartoonishly evil and more of a grounded commentary
- Daphne asking about the bagels
- Daphne asking Mirror for bagels
- Sabrina being a fan of King Arthur and getting to fangirl over "girly" things like Morgan Le Fay's dress
- MR CANIS IS FRENCH
- Ichabod Crane IS in it and he's doing a crossword puzzle. You know: because he was an English teacher. AND he's one of the few characters without a British accent because he's American in the original story!
- Mr Canis vaulting across the car hood
- GREEN MEATBALLS
- Mirror straight up does a limp wrist
- The show opens with the girls running from the giant JUST like the book opens with the blurb of them running from the giant.
- THE ABLEISM IS CUT. Aside from like one line by Sabrina, to be expected, the story no longer frames the previous owners they had as only evil because they were mentally ill and instead blames the foster system for being inadequate.
- Relda tells the girls she'll explain all she knows about the Scarlet Hand and behind her, the mirror shimmers in the background at the exact same time.
- Mirror explains the Scarlet Hand to the girls which OOOOO what a change, I ate that up.
- Puck no longer feels, at least to me, like a bully. He and Sabrina argue on equal footing and it's much more palatable. Plus, it actually sets up their relationship from Sabrina's side, which I found the books neglected to do.
- Instead of just losing the slipper, Sabrina chooses between it and Charming which better serves her arc with the Everafters imo. Her bigotry against them gets so difficult to read in the books so I like that it was rectified or at least changed a little for the show.
- Mr Canis putting Relda's car seat on while the giant grabs them.
- ELVIS LAYING AT MR CANIS' FEET WHEN HE'S SICK, I ALMOST CRIED.
- Julius the kangaroo!
- THE OBAMA "CHARM" POSTER
- The trailers don't show it but the jalopy is in fact a piece of shit and I wouldn't have it any other way.
- Daphne is the one who frees Relda and Mr Canis from the giant's pocket which I not only enjoyed watching play out but I liked that she was given something to do. In the book, she kinda just stands around during that sequence.
- THE BIKE IN THE CORNER OF THEIR BEDROOM
- All the British people (Puck, Charming, Mirror) get mad at the American education system basically.
- Sabrina crying under the stairs about her parents while Mirror is SITTING ON THE STAIRS. HELLO?
- They merge the scene where the girls talk to Relda about the pixies and the scene where Mr Canis boards up the window except he puts bars on the window and waves happily to them while he does it.
- HAMSTEAD HAMSTEAD HAMSTEAD HAMSTEAD HAMSTEAAAAAADDDDDD
- THE PHOTO OF THE GRIMMS' WEDDING. THE PHOTO OF PREGNANT VERONICA. Canis' eyes don't do the cool Wolf thing but the fact that the photo is included at all is amazing
- Mirror quoting the book line-for-line when explaining the Hall of Wonders. I want to formally apologize to Harry Trevaldwyn for ever doubting him. He NAILED that performance.
- Snow White is East Asian!!!
- Charming being Black fr makes him way more enjoyable to me as a character. Sure, he was intended to be an asshole white guy in the book but that somehow made him harder to find interesting in the books. He is great in the show.
- Mr Canis chilling in the back seat of the car while in the giants' pocket. Also Mr Canis being so tall he has to hunch in the car. Also his terrible ass posture.
- The entire carpet chase is metal. It mixes together several scenes and it's paced super well. The pacing in the show is mostly iffy but that chase scene is AGGHHHH so good ily Hamstead
- I dunno why they made Daphne the Nutcracker instead of the Tin Man but she was adorable and so goofy so I can't even be mad.
- Mirror's hand being blue and kinda gooey-looking when it comes out of the mirror surface, like in the book.
- Daphne is PERFECT. She was MADE for the animated medium.
- Hamstead accidentally getting pushed down the stairs
- THE LITTLE PIG-TAIL CURL IN HAMSTEAD'S HAIR
- BABA YAGA IN THE INTRO THEME
- 365 Way to Cook Dragon can be seen on one of the book piles and the book on giants is the cover of the first Sisters Grimm book
As I’m currently doing a re-read of ‘The Sister’s Grimm’, I’m reminded of how well Puck and Sabrina’s slow burn was. And how romantic and heartfelt their story is.
There was absolutely no romantic tension between them in book 1, just pure spite between preteens. However, the natural progression of a crush begins in book 2. Book 3 has the titular moment, of course, and things only progress from there.
However, something I don’t believe is discussed enough, is Puck as a character. Not only did Michael Buckley handle the age gap with the most decorum I’ve seen in a faerie/human romance, but he also wrote an incredible tale between Puck and Sabrina.
Point A) Puck stopped aging at 12 years old when his father tried to force the marriage with Moth upon him. This also stopped his brain development. So, when he and Sabrina met, he was still physically and mentally a 12 year old, who wasn’t even seeking out love. Nothing gross or predatory about any of that at ALL.
Point B) Puck and Sabrina have not only an adorable slow burn, but the boy QUITE LITERALLY GAVE UP IMMORTALITY FOR HER !!! Everafters are more than allowed to age, only if they choose too. Puck didn’t age for FOUR THOUSAND YEARS. He had no need to. That was, until, he met Sabrina. Unconsciously, he began aging, because he fell in love with her and didn’t want her to grow up without him. Of course, he’s a 12 year old boy who doesn’t want to admit he’s fallen in love, but the heart always knows.
And what’s even better? He doesn’t stop it. He gives in. He gives in because after 4,000 years, he’s finally found his girl.
I know Puck and Sabrina’s romance isn’t the main lesson or storyline of this series at ALL, but it’s one that I think about constantly. For a book series written for middle schoolers, it has such complex themes and storylines that I am constantly amazed at.
One more week til he is unleashed on the world
6+ Hours of work for this one and I personally love it!

need the sisters grimm adaptation to get more seasons simply so i can see them go to new york to heal puck’s broken wings and also see him jump in front of a jabberwocky for sabrina and also see that one arc in one of the books where they meet their future married selves and future puck tells his past self not to glue a basketball hoop to sabrina’s head
also...puckabrina versions
if you noticed i put more effort into sabrina...you would be correct.
