Did you know that a single psych facility or standalone behavioral hospital, even with not ‘many’ beds, can make tens of millions a year when reviewing their financial related paperwork? The reason why many homeless will avoid services and prefer to stay in the streets is coercive services and lack of true help to provide independence. They ignore the larger issues - from personal experience I know that it’s systemically very difficult to go beyond records which start accumulating while the person is homeless. Although not everyone is ‘strong enough’ per say to do crimes - hence they are more likely to be caught by crisis people or facilities instead of by the criminal system, though both victimize - such as trespassing, disorderly conduct, intoxication in public, minor or larger theft, or drug violations, it is extremely hard to then go to college, get jobs, and to *LEAVE* the revolving door. Instead of looking at the *true* issues of rehabilitation or *turning* people and how people can do that - they are re-victimizing these people into segregation where they will be even LESS likely to want to live. Remember, self death after psych wards is the highest. I would like to ask if Governor Newsom has ever tried to help individuals directly to leave homelessness and essentially learn the factors in total. Not everything is what it seems. It’s the highest rates of jail in the USA for many reasons. They do not have proper mechanisms. Even a stupid speeding ticket which I got as a *result* of going across country to help said individuals while a late teen is used against. A speeding ticket!
