From the moment a fruit is harvested, the clock starts to tick. It doesn’t die when it’s harvested, but continues to take in oxygen and live for days or even weeks. However, removed from the mother plant, vitamins and nutrients are being used to continue to live, leaving fewer for us when we finally get them home off the shelves. I’ve always been about cutting out the middle man and little Relly going direct to source. New guava babies already sprouting from the recent harvest. These babies will be looking for new homes post-corona for anyone interested in having some of the same guavas we have in their yard. They are the size of softballs, pink and sweet on the inside, and beautifully fragranced. I had my first guava in as little as 8 months and they’ve since been producing non-stop. If you don’t have a yard, consider planting in a large enough container. These are definitely worth having and they are free to anyone wanting to plant!
