Uhh– Well, for my thoughts on Hidan, he’s an only child. And because Yugakure is one of those like backwater, not well heard of, villages before tourists overrun it, I was going with the idea that not a lot of medical expertise was available. Hidan’s mother had complications in her pregnancy, and on top of that was anemic. Awful as this is, I just sort of went for it. She ended up dying giving birth to him, the doctors at hand having only enough ability to save the baby. This one led to the effects of Hidan’s father turning abusive towards his kid.His mother though I imagine was a very sweet and loving woman, albino with anemia. I imagine she was probably very sweet, but also was quite fearsome with her words if you made her upset for any reason. Nothing super important is coming to my mind about her… she probably wasn’t any kind of shinobi.

His father, on the other hand, was a shinobi. He was a lot like Hidan in both appearance and mannerisms. Medium-built with that more lean muscle, that square jaw and angular cheekbones. Probably a pretty handsome guy that worked hard to start his life and was a real family guy. Until he lost his wife, he was super excited to be a parent with her. He didn’t really know what it was because mental illnesses aren’t often discussed in the shinobi-world but he had BPD and Hidan does now too. Something in the man really just got lost after his wife died, and the only thing he had left was a pretty sickly baby that only reminded him of her. Because he was so heartbroken and felt awful for not being able to save his wife, he started to develop a dislike for his child. The doctors took care of Hidan the first half of his first year, since he was so sickly and a premature baby, so this probably didn’t help his father ever develop connections with him. 

Uhh– super sad XD But his father would take care of him plenty to keep him alive, but all the warmth and love was missing from his care. Hidan was left alone for long spans of time as a toddler, not having a lot to play with, and never getting his father to play with him. The man would only go so far as sit on the floor with him and watch him play, but it was always with a very sad look in his eyes. Hidan never understood until he was much older, but even as he grew up his father paid him no attention. Probably the first time Hidan’s father ever actually hit him, too hard to be considered a spanking or anything he deserved as punishment at the age of 5, was when Hidan broke a lot of dishes in a fit. His father slapped him hard across the face, enough to knock the boy down and make him cry of course, and made him clean up the mess before he was then locked in his room for the rest of the night.
