Over the course of the holiday season, the lower levels of Gastown’s Alibi Room have been decorated into the Jingle Bar! As we entered, we were welcomed by festive decor and wonderfully costumed staff who helped us with our coats.  Our media night took place on a Wednesday - which had a focus on Cocktails & Carols. Each ticket for a Wednesday night includes a complimentary house cocktail on arrival and group sing-a-longs - perfect for bringing those who enjoy festive cheer or a cheeky Christmas date night. During the course of our hour and a half session, we participated in group trivia with other guests (with live results!). The competition kept things engaging and the staff were great at rallying everyone to be involved. Following this was a costume contest, where winners from both events won cute little prizes. My significant other ended up crushing the trivia and won a little mug and treats gift bag. For those thirsty or hungry - there is a simple list of five curated holiday cocktails for every taste, as well as a simplified bar menu courtesy of the Alibi Room. Rounding off the night was karaoke and group caroling, which really put the icing on the cake. Songs performed included the classic Mariah Carey hit "All I Want For Christmas Is You," to songs found in Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. The Christmas elves also noted that there are family-friendly sessions on Saturdays and Sundays at 1 PM and 3 PM, perfect for those who want to bring their little ones for crafts and games such as Reindeer Ring Toss and Elf Bingo. Overall, our duration and time spent at the Jingle Bar was a breath of fresh air - especially for two people who aren’t really into the holidays for various reasons.

I can’t stress how engaging, attentive and friendly the staff were here! I can highly recommend this as a quick stop for those wanting to get into Santa’s good books or for those who want some holiday cheer.
