These six Ziegfeld Girls insisted on having their lunch in their bathing suits, June 5, 1925. The girlsâMildred Lunney, Margy Martin, Helen Sheldon, Catherine Frey, Bobbie Powers, and Edith Babsonâwent from rehearsal to Keen's Chop House attired only in their beachwear. Paul Henkel, the manager of the restaurant, strenuously objected, claiming they were not properly dressed. Henkel was asked when he had become a censor of women's wear. After much discussion, in which the rest of the diners voted in favor of the girls, they were served.

Stolen Kiss (1787) by Jean HonorĂ© Fragonard (French, 1732 â 1806), and, very likely, Marguerite GĂ©rard (French, 1761 â 1837), oil on canvas, 45 x 55cm (17.7 x 21.7in), Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg
I loved when we got to see inner Sakura think one way and act another way to make herself more palatable and likable, thereâs so much potential in her character for exploring repression and horror. Sheâs such a good example of a character whoâs desperately trying not to seem unhinged, what happens when it all comes out?
Was she kind?
Fit in, donât make a fuss, donât complain or rebel or seem unnecessarily different. Propriety was everything. The house was meticulously clean and tidy. Fiona and I were always washed and combed and well dressed. Fiona was rebuked if she slipped into a Northampton accent... Like Dad, sheâd risen a long way and found herself in a place that never quite felt like solid ground. She assumed other people would judge her in the way that she judged them, by the way she spoke, the way she dressed, the cream carpets, the framed maps of the county. I donât think it ever occurred to her that people might look at her and ask, âWas she kind? Did she care about other people? Did she love her children?â

He was a man of propriety and rules. They had sustained him and guided him all his life, and he felt obliged to honour them even now.

I had a little "Lucid" dream. đđ
You swearing is so funny, your voice is so expensive sounding, you swearing sounds like a posh angry man.
I don't enjoy littering my language with profanities. I find them childish. However, not all words carry the weight they do. And thank you, I do try to speak with good propriety.
