Although I officially became a Muslim in Damascus in December 1972 and performed the full Haj pilgrimage in Medina and Mecca (Makkah) during the whole month of January 1973, I did not continue studying and practicing Islam afterwards, so I can't vouch for the veracity of the above text. I have not lost my respect for those sincerely practicing this faith.
