#prop replica

Now this is very much a work in progress- and has been for the last several YEARS- but I wanted to share the work I've done on my HHN replica journal from 2008's Reflections of Fear website. Bloody Mary/ Mary Agana has been my all time favorite HHN character since I got into the event in 2018 so it only feels right that I dedicate all my free time to making her come to life.

So sorry for the wait on this folks, but the longform video on how I turned my Kermit into the Dread Pirate Frogerts is finally done! And for the folks who are just interested in hearing how things went meeting Cary Elwes/Westley, keep reading!

(I'm gonna copy/paste this from my update post about how it went meeting Cary Elwes, I think it got a bit lost because despite lurking on Tumblr for ages I've never quite learned the ropes of this site ha ha).

The meeting with Cary was brief but memorable. He said Kermit looked great as Westley, and all in all seemed very amused with him. I so wish I could've spent more time with Cary, he seemed like a very nice man, surprisingly soft spoken! I think I was so used to seeing him play more extroverted characters that I assumed that was how he was like in real life too.

Prior to meeting Cary I had attended his panel at the convention, and during the Q&A section another audience member asked what he thought of the idea of remaking The Princess Bride with Muppets.

I so wish I could've gotten this on film, but sadly it wasn't allowed at the panel so ya'll will just have to take my word for it. But Cary said he approves of the idea and confirmed that if it were to happen, he would want Kermit to play Westley and Piggy to play Buttercup. So that was incredibly delightful to hear, as I sat there in the audience with Kermit on my arm.

All in all, it was a good day, and I’m grateful to have had the experience of making my tribute to Westley and getting to share it with the man himself. And it was also really fun to get to see everyone's reactions to Kermit, both online and in-person (In fact, I actually had someone recognize me in a panel from the post on Tumblr, small world! Hello again to you, if you happen to see this!).

Thanks to everyone for all the likes and nice comments you've left on the original post! The response to my Kermit has been extremely positive and at times slightly overwhelming to an introverted weirdo like me ha ha. But I truly do appreciate how much joy my Dread Pirate Frogerts has been able to give folks. Last thing I'll share, because I'm pretty proud of how my photoshop job turned out... I had intended to bring Kermit to an official photo-op with Cary at the convention, however upon arriving I was told that props weren't allowed (And unfortunately, to convention staff Kermit was considered a prop). So that was pretty disappointing, but thankfully when you're like me and have learned a few photoshop tricks over the years, you can make any picture better in editing. I ended up cobbling together the below photoshop of my photo-op with Cary, a picture of my Kermit, and my Youtube pngtuber-self to make this extremely goofy photo.

Greetings exalted ones. That fluffy loth cat is hanging out with my Korbanth Saber version 2 lightsaber from Return of the Jedi. Got this for myself... This is the weathered version that was modeled after the stunt prop used the most in the film. It has a little kyber crystal chamber too that you can open up. I did not install my kyber and I did not get the one with the electronics. When kitty isn't dueling, it sits on a shelf in my library and looks cool. He is not a Jedi yet...

Introducing my new Robin replica! After remaking my Kermit earlier this year I knew I'd be getting around to making an F3 fleece Robin eventually. Granted, I didn't think it's take me two whole seasons to get around to Robin... but hey, that just means I got to take some fun winter shots with him, which contrast nicely against the summer shots I got with Kermit.

I did have to add the snowflakes in with Photoshop in these pictures. I had hoped to do a photoshoot with actual falling snow, but the weather wasn't cooperating and I was getting tired of waiting for a perfect snowfall (Watch as we get one right after I post this). 

Robin is decked out in some American Girl doll clothes, which was a decent fit from the get-go but I did have to take in the shoulders a bit. Feels kinda funny seeing him in a winter coat and sweater, but no boots! 

If the weather cooperates I'm hoping to get a few more shots of Robin outside enjoying the snow. (Hopefully next time I don't forget my snowpants, my behind was pretty frosty after the first photoshoot). I didn't take many pictures while making Robin because I mentally just needed a project where I didn't worry about documenting the build process, but I'll include a few pics I did take below:
