but I thought about it last night, and I have a few ideas for what I want to do to celebrate ffxv’s 10th anniversary and apart from gifmaking, I was thinking I could do my own remix of Another Sun Rises ❤️

So I'd like to ask my readers...

If you were to get a remix chapter of that fic, would you want a chapter in Prompto’s pov (since everything but the epilogue is Ignis’ pov) or would you want to see a scene that wasn’t in the fic (i.e., a missing scene/what actually happens after we fade to black when Ignis and Prompto are about to [redacted])?

Summary:

Gladio raps the table twice, then says in the higher acolyte’s voice, “Adept Sancus, you have visitors.”

“Come in,” Ignis says, after a half-second’s doubt. He does not try for anyone’s voice but his own.

“Wisdom check,” Gladio says.

Ignis rolls his d20 and adds his proficiency to it. “Fifteen.”

“The two strangers before you are clearly experienced adventurers, or maybe mercenaries, based on the weapons they carry and the wear and tear on their armor and other gear. They’re successful at it, too, because they seem well-fed, in good health, and have all of their limbs. The woman is a little taller than the man, though they seem of age and are similar enough in coloring and facial structure that you wouldn’t at all be surprised if they were related.”

In which Prompto's bad luck actually turns out to be good luck.

Of course, Iggy needs his coffee! And Prompto? Prompto is having a steamed bun to warm his hand—and fill his stomach. It's getting colder... They should wear gloves later! But maybe Prompto prefer to hold Ignis's hand—without the glove?

The FFXV remix event reminded me that this story exists, and I'm awful proud of it. Have a taste:

“... The way you’re talking about this guy… You don’t. You know. Like him, do you?”

And there it was. Noctis might look lazy and standoffish and self-absorbed, but he was actually incredibly observant and why oh why was he using his Super-Elite Observation Powers now? 

“I mean,” Noct continued, “I never thought you were into guys? Especially since, you know, Cindy.”

“Noct, you know Cindy’s a goddess,” Prompto said. 

Noctis chuckled. “So how does this flower delivery guy compare?”

There was no way Prompto was having this conversation right now. “Sorry! Gotta run, Noct, but burgers at five sounds great, I’ll see you then!”

“Prompto, wait--”

Prompto ended the call with a flick of his thumb. He thought he should probably feel bad, but he didn’t want to talk to Noctis about his feelings--because he wasn’t really sure what his feelings were. Crushing on Cindy was safe, because she was married to her work at the shop. The only things she had eyes for were wings and spoilers on classic cars.

Ignis was not safe. Ignis was perfect. Ignis was completely unreachable. Ignis was likely to get him hurt--and he’d had enough hurt in his life, he didn’t want to actively seek it out, thank you very much.
