met and bonded through their duties towards Noctis

enjoy discussing all kinds of topics with each other but also just sitting together in silence

both not big on physical intimacy

start living together out of practicality and because they find each other comfortable to be around

accidentally grow old together

they just never talk about it or make any plans, it just happens and they're chill with it

Prompto & Noctis & Iris:

Noctis enjoys both Prompto's and Iris's while being oblivious to each of them having a crush on him

he finds great comfort in cuddles from people close to him and it's Iris and Prompto he ends up turning to the most for that -- a request to which they both happily comply

Prompto and Iris bond over their shared lot of having an unrequited crush on Noctis and help each other when things feel a little tough on either of them

when Iris finally confesses her feelings to Noctis he's scared at first, because the kind of commitment she has for him is not something he can offer in return

bit Iris is lithromantic and just wants him to be happy and support him however she can and while she enjoys being with him she doesn’t require him to be with her in any way, so Noctis can grow comfortable with her loving him unconditionally while caring about her in his own way

Prompto really wishes for reciprocation, but knows Noctis cannot give it

he either never confesses or he's very clear about not going to ask of Noctis more than what they already have in terms of intimacy so Noctis can become comfortable with it

the three of them mostly indulge in cuddles or spending idle time together

they never put a label to it, though maybe “friends with benefits*” (*the benefits being cuddles) might cut it

considering how close they are it's kind of a given that they would live together eventually

it's not a commitment they make for life, but turns into them growing old together anyway, because of how they care for each other and work together

Luna & Crowe:

Crowe and Luna are off to a rough start

Luna is all about duty and very formal in the way she interacts with people and Crowe doesn't know how to deal with that

once Crowe not only gets an impression of how devoted Luna is to her role as oracle, but also how it gradually ruins her own health, Crowe challenges her about throwing her life away like that which Luna meets with stubbornness

basically Crowe comes to aggressively care about Luna

that makes her the first person aside from Noctis who shows an investment in Luna who isn't either family or a loyal servant which shakes up Luna's world

Luna starts to question her own obedience to her fate as well as her feelings for Noctis which she figured were of a romantic nature, but now starts realising are platonic and she just didn't know any better, because she had no comparison

Luna also takes an increasing interest in Crowe and starts developing feelings for her

Crowe's fierceness inspires Luna to take even less shit

they fall in love and settle down together

basically, they're lesbians and they live and all is well

Additional notes:

Luna and Noctis are both relieved to mutually break their engagement with each other, they stay close friends though

frequent visits between the three domestic parties

Prompto loves to play with Pryna and Umbra
