Tendonitis Vs. Handsewing
My job currently requires me to do a lot of sewing. I have to apply Pellon interfacing to clothing artifacts using a straight stitch. In order to do this and hopefully not inflame my tendonitis, I will be using needle nose pliers to hold the needle today.
I'm immediately impressed by the improved grip strength the pliers give me, I'd actually suggest that anyone who handsews should try using pliers to hold the needle. There's the added bonus that if necessary, I could apply an ergonomic wrap to the handle of the pliers. I think this is the way, but I'll update this post with if I experience a flare up from the sewing again.
i can only assume that people on pinterest have access to some alternate, elite form of cardboard that does not fray at the edges when you cut it and actually makes home decor that reads "charmingly homemade" rather than "pulled out of the trash"
Fragglesona puppet project #1 is complete!!
This was a surprise commission for @toxoplasmosisgrandma , and I was so happy to deliver it in person yesterday! We had a blast bringing her to life and puppeting her around.
This project took about 15-20 hours over the past month. It was made with patterns from Project Puppet and Adam Kreutinger. I modified the patterns to match the Fraggle character best. The hair was the hardest part, because I had to hand-dye it with Rit dye-all to get the right colour. All that I can say is that I am overjoyed with how this project turned out, and I had a blast and learned so much! I really hope to do another project like this in the future.

FUCKING THING ALERT
I can't even post the most incredible wips of my career. Once you're allowed to see them I'll come back. Promise
Update on my fursuit project:
While I did technically finish the stuffed base for the head, I'm not entirely satisfied with it so I will be modifying the jaw piece. However, after the last bit of stitching I did I had a terrible tendonitis flare-up! So progress will be slower. Apparently, working with my hands for three days straight can actually suck bad. lol its ok, will update you with new info as soon as possible.
