New The Sims Project Rene Playtest Blatantly Rips Off âDress To Impressâ From Roblox
Weâre slowly coming to a realization on why The Sims Mobile is shutting down its doors. All of that pay to play energy is going straight into the next The Sims Project Rene project, with new playtest images that confirm a direct copy of a popular Roblox game.
The Sims Project Rene has been confirmed to be a standalone entry to The Sims series. Described as a ânext gen platformâ that will ecompass multiplayer features straight into the gameâs DNA. Where youâll be able to build houses and apartments with friends, participate in career challenges and now even participate in fashion challenges. That resemble the popular âDress to Impressâ online game created for Roblox.
New The Sims Project Rene Playtest
The Sims Project Rene is confirmed to be a cross-platform free video game, where players on both HD platforms (Computers and Consoles) along with Mobile devices (Smartphones and iPads) will be able to play the game. Weâve seen a few spin-off Playtests for The Sims Project Rene already, such as the âCity Life Game with Friendsâ, in which players can play together, run a cafe and participate in quick Build Challenges.
Today, a new The Sims Project Rene playtest surfaced online titled âThe Sims Labs: Life Togetherâ. In this playtest entry we can see smartphone graphics that are a little bit more polished, changes to the User Interface as well as some new features. Including Sims riding bike scooters and new minigames. Read the full playtest features and see the new screens down below:
The Sims: Life Together is the multiplayer life sim of your dreams-be who you want to be!

News I have heard from a friend whoâs partner works at Maxis:
Next Expansion after Fairies is the most expensive Expansion pack in the history of the franchise that doesnât add a new Pet or Life Stage because of how long it was in development for.
But I have been told this is largely due to inflation, as for the last few years it costs Maxis more money now to develop a single Expansion than it did to develop The Sims Medieval (which was an entire spin off).
Itâs a Vacation pack with a twist, that will allow you to customise and create Vacations beyond what Outdoor Retreat and Jungle Adventure can do. You will be able to create custom venues that your Sims will engage with on their Vacation. There will be a big focus on Family Vacations, as the existing Vacation packs are more focused on Adult gameplay.
EA are expecting the Expansion to sell over 7 â 10 million copies within the first 12 months because they know the themes within the pack are highly requested and that packs with similar focuses have achieved similar success. So the marketing team is already coming up with ideas on how to promote the game.
The majority of Sims 4âs profit from Expansions is reinvested by EA into other games development, rather than the game itself. EA set targets with Maxis to deliver a specific amount of Expansions per year.
Kits arenât going anywhere, despite none in the latest roadmap. Maxis use the profit from Kits to invest in free base game updates as EA donât give them much of a budget anymore since itâs now free. Theyâre on pause to see the community feedback of having more functionality within Kits, to see if people respond more favourably to them.
Maxis want to do more cultural worlds and have been trying for years to get a world based on Africa in the game, but higher ups at EA prefer culturally ambiguous worlds as they sell better. Maxis have come up with an idea to please both sides (but they wouldnât tell me what that is).
Development of some Expansions will be developed in Europe instead of the US.
Project Rene is going smoothly and apparently rumours of it being in development trouble or being downgraded are false. Itâs still the game it was when it was announced, a fully developed online Sims game.
This is what lâve been told by the partner of someone who works at Maxis. I tried to ask about other stuff but they said they didnât want to get their partner in trouble, and that everything they told me is what is already told to many creators (minus the sale projections) so itâs already semi-public.
They wouldnât tell me anything that creators already donât know. I donât know if thatâs all creators or just some. They didnât know either.

My prediction: Project Rene would be a mobile game - That's their target now: kids who don't have access to a pc of low/medium range but own mobile and/or tablet.
EA here is stealing ideas from Roblox and AVAKIN - That's their target!
Another proof? On October 21st, 2025 The Sims Mobile has been removed completely from the Google Play (Android) and App Store (iOS). That's because they are gonna launch Project Rene as new mobile game.
While rumors tell us that for PC EA is going to introduce a remastered version of The Sims 4 base game. And here we would have two options, now: 1. A totally new game with no access to previous dlc; 2. A very buggy update that would cause infinite crash; 3. A compatible new game infested by bugs.
I just have no hopes for my favorite game.
My secret dream is stills a remastered version of The Sims Medieval
