Dove deep in my fiber stash looking for color inspo for my next embroidery project. Just picked out colors that sparked joy. Turns out I had my heart set on pastel rainbow...? Well, at the very least these colors will photograph a lot better and easier than my last project.

FINALLY finished making *human versions of the original ten care bears. I also went back to fix some of the designs I wasn't fully happy with and simplify them.
Moving on to the Cousins next, here's some concept sketches for them!!!
Below is some information about what I'm doing with this idea
This is going to be a little self-indulgent project of some kind, (it's leaning towards mini comics or ask blog). I want to have an actual project to commit to so test my drawing and writing skills. Even if it's basically an AU fanfic of 80's greeting card characters lol.
I plan to make isolated story arcs or events that focus on a handful of the characters. There's over 20 of these guys so it's going to be a big endeavor for me lol.
Knights of Care-a-Lot (That's what I'm calling it) is going to be weird ass mix of Twisted wonderland, Hetalia, Cookie Run and a bit of Umamusme when it comes to personifying the bears and telling the story.
The Knights are basically animal magical people who protect the world and fight monsters, demons, evil wizards, etc.
While these guys are based on the Care bears, they have their own story arcs and backstories, so I'm taking a lot of creative liberty with this. Mainly in this universe, they are not considered family. It's just that they all trained under the Noble Heart and True Heart of this world. Although there will be some exceptions.
Also, I gave them names!
Arthur (Tenderheart)
Iris (Cheer Bear)
Brook (Grumpy Bear)
Ray (Funshine)
Ami (Friend Bear)
Vesta (Wish Bear)
Freya (Love-a-Lot)
Rem (Bedtime Bear)
Benoît (Birthday Bear)
Clover (Good Luck Bear)
Leon (Brave Heart Lion)
Gale (Swift Heart Rabbit)
Lotte (Lotsa Heart Elephant)
Wattson (Bright Heart Raccoon)
Mary (Gentle Heart Lamb)
Sly (Playful Heart Monkey)
Lumi (Cozy Heart Penguin)
Victoria (Proud Heart Cat)
Fidel (Loyal Heart Dog)
Ginger (Treat Heart Pig)
That's pretty much all I have, again I'm still planning on how to do this, and I want to be causal about it to not burn myself out. Everything here is still subject to change!!
This should be a fun project for me. Even so I want to actually make an actual piece of media that's not limited to gag comics or a meme animatic.
Anyway, thank you for listening to my insane, indulgent, ramblings!
What silly text should I weave into a tablet-woven letterband? My current thought is “unlimited breadsticks at olive garden”. I need something that is fun/funny enough for me to find worth keeping and not serious enough that I’ll be worried about making it actually look nice. This is for learning/practice, so I want something low-stakes.
I guess I could weave something in binary…? But what could I choose…
me: In order to keep myself from starting too many projects at the same time, I will buy a limited number of Containers and put one project in each Container. Then I will know when not to start any new projects 😊
also me: this Container can hold three projects Asctually 🤪

I want a lace weight top (probably short sleeve) and I have some handspun yarn
I don't have enough of either on their own, sp they have to go together (I've got another ball of the grey too). I should also probably weigh what I have and compare it to the sweater I made out of the grey just to be sure, but that's tomorrow-me's problem.
I flipped through this book
And like this pattern
And started a swatch.
I tried out some two colour rib (uses less yarn than brioche rib) and some stripes (one row each colour which works fine in the round) and then started the pattern (and messed it up a little because one row each colour not in the round is finicky) and then got bored swatching so this is as far as I've gotten
That doesn't show the striped bits very well
Much better.
I don't hate the stripes as much as I thought I would. I actually like how they play in the lace.
I'm going to cast off the swatch and block it and then do some math.
The pattern will probably be based on EZ's saddle shoulder technique, just because I like how that fit. Likely stockinette at the yoke and then lace starting just above the bust.
