hiii. I've been doing (sort of) project pan for a few months now. If you don't know what that it- it's a way to declutter/use what you have and limit excess consumption. I want to do it for my art supplies too haha
I have so many art supplies (usually gifted to me), so I'm going to go through them and a) donate/giveaway anything that I don't want or b) dedicate a sketchbook to get rid of it.

Jesus Christ there's so much unused makeup on Mercari. Went down an eyeshadow palette rabbit hole and it just keeps going.
Just about every single one of these is brand new, or only opened for photos, or swatched but never used, or at best used once. And this is just colorful eyeshadow palettes. This implies piles upon piles of unused makeup just sitting in people's houses because they fell victim to the natural human urge to "obtain the shiny colorful thing" and then just left it on a shelf until they decided they needed more space.
If I play my cards right, I may never have to buy retail makeup again.
Overconsumption has convinced us that "pricey" makeup is too much (I'm talking like $20-60 products) when honestly if you actually use your stuff and don't collect like 5 of each type of makeup you'll see that it takes FOREVER to actually use up a makeip product
If you ever do project pan or watch anyone do it you'll see just how long it takes to get through something like a blush or especially an eyeshadow palette! It can take like 2 years!!

welcome to my first monthly project pan update of 2026!!! this one is a LOTTT bc i included my december empties as well!! i also focused on items with little product left so i could start 2026 fresh with either a new restock, or picking one from my stockpile!

šelf halo glow foundation - yes!! the perfect glowy, light coverage base
ā¤ļøpantene moisture shampoo - no. need something deeper for my scalp.
šsol de janiero #40 body butter - yes always, so luxurious and floraly.
ševa nyc mane magic mask - yes!! leaves my hair so soft and hydrated.
ā¤ļøpantene keratin shampoo & conditioner - smells divine, but damaged my waves (bc duh, itās keratin, i didnāt read the label when i bought itš„²)
iām a project pan girlie rn by the way. i made this decision cuz i realised that i have sooooo many expensive makeup and itāll become expired so soon. thatās why Iām using it all without buying anything new. especially blushes and lipglosses, i have a bunch and all of them are from like dior, ysl and chanel, so i spent a lot and didnāt even use š¤ thatās crazy! never over consuming anymore
