5: When bad things happen, do they usually think it happened to them or because of them?
timeskip au goh: primarily to him, i think. he’s a depressed graduate student. he is not ready to take accountability for how that might have outward ripple effects on his life, because this is what he’s Supposed to be doing so if he is miserable then it cannot possibly be his fault
lemonverse goh: because of him for sure. or in his worse moments, because of gary, lmao
progeny goh: to him, 100%, except he is DEEPLY aware that the reality is it is because of him. he will never acknowledge it though and he will in fact make even worse things happen to protect his fragile sense of self. though he would also have just as many feelings of it being because of mew - but mew is also a thing that happened to him. so!
27: Are they content with their sexuality and gender expression? would a difference in their sexuality and gender affect their role in the story and if so how?
timeskip au goh: frankly he is not content with anything in his life, haha. but i have established he feels more comfortable with his gender expression because of growing out his hair, so! in general i see goh as very like, gender apathetic overall but definitely preferring to be perceived as androgynous. sexuality is not really on his radar, he’s frankly just trying not to think about it
lemonverse goh: honestly i don’t really have any set gender headcanons for this au beyond the OCs? in my head gary at least is trans but i’m not really getting into that because it isn’t a facet of their respective characters i’m trying to explore with this au so i’m good with people reading their genders as whatever they want. but i think the same things as i said above apply to goh here, at least. and this au is just, everyone is gay, lol
progeny goh is too mentally unwell to concern himself with gender. even HRT can’t save him. and his sexuality is also irrelevant because he is too mentally unwell to know how he feels about anything other than fuck ash, i hate ash, etc. this is not a diversity win in any respect other than big win for the cluster b personality disorder of it all
36: What is their level of emotional intelligence and social adeptness?
timeskip au goh: like…on par with how it is in canon, which is like, on the low end for social adeptness for sure and like…he’s very emotionally intelligent but he chooses to Ignore All That, and cannot apply that intelligence to himself. which is why is is suffering major depression now. lmao
lemonverse goh: BETTER than canon, for sure. having a child has forced him to confront a lot about himself and about how he interacts with his loved ones. he’s very emotionally attuned to other people, which is a perfectly canon trait, but so much of his development in lemonverse is learning how to be less extreme about how he receives those emotions and to work through his own reactions and such. and he’s more socially adept because he is the pta mom to gary’s soccer mom here
progeny goh: he is getting an F in both these things. he’s been using a psychic cat to regulate his emotions since he was like 6 and it is everyone’s problem now
