A/N: i’m so so sorry this is extremely late.. I just began my junior year and things are already so hectic. i’m also taking the SAT this week, the korean SAT in november, and the SAT again in december 😭  so I might not be very active, but I’ll still be writing in my free time :) also!! happy chuseok to all my fellow koreans ❤️

life without your soulmate is colorless

literally

the world is monochrome until you make physical contact with your soulmate

which means you could easily pass by them and never notice

which scared you shitless

but after 20 years, you kinda gave up

either you had passed by him unknowingly or he was in another country or in a grave

you figured you could live with a black and white world

until, you know, your friends took you to lotte world and excitedly pointed at colors you couldn’t see

you’re not salty at all

you spend the day trudging behind your soulmate-bound friends

apparently the cotton candy you’re eating is pink

you don’t know what pink looks like nor do you associate the color to a word or feeling

but your friends insist it foreshadows you meeting your soulmate

you roll your eyes at the forced connection and continue to melt the fluff in your mouth

you’re not a big fan of roller coasters, but you don’t hate it either

except at this moment because you, the only single one in your friend group, now have to ride it alone

or more specifically, with a stranger

you sneak a peek at the stranger next to you

and are surprised by how good looking he is

you don’t know if your heart is racing because of the ride or because of him

he, on the other hand, looks terrified

you hear his friends laugh in the seat behind you guys

the ride comes to a pause at a peak

you prepared yourself for the drop

but what you weren’t prepared for was the guy clinging onto you as the vehicle sped down

your eyes widen as colors begin to burst in the world around you

it’s exhilarating

all these colors

all these shades you didn’t have a name for

it was amazing

when the roller coaster finally comes to another pause, you look over at the guy next to you

your soulmate

his eyes are still closed, so you lightly poke him to get his attention

unfortunately for him, he opens his eyes the second the ride goes for another dip

scared at his sudden ability to see colors and the speed of the fall, he shuts his eyes closed again and lets out a scream

you can’t help but laugh 

by the time the ride ends, he’s stunned into silence

half cursing his friends for forcing him on the rollercoaster

half thanking them for helping him meet his soulmate

maybe another half for his embarrassment

he turns to you with a shy smile

“can we re-do our first meeting?” he asks

“i don’t believe i’ve seen you before” you grin, going along with his proposal

his face lights up and he extends his hand out

“hi, i’m takada kenta. may i shake your hand to see if the goddess in front of me is my soulmate?”

“hi, i’m y/n and i’m cringing really hard at that line”

“wow! all of a sudden i-i see colors!”

another cringe at the bad acting

but you laugh anyway because he’s too cute

“and we see that you guys finally found each other” your friend teases

kenta’s friends join yours as they suggest they leave you two alone

tbh your ideal first date was at an amusement park

so it made you really happy to have your wish come true
