So this week in our multi-player adventures, @probablylostrightnow, @servantofclio and I started Astarion's quest
Well, we started it last week but got out behinds kicked by Cazador, probably because Astarion was still in his starting armor and only with one basic dagger. Oops
This week, though? We prepared. Since Clio's Lavendar is also a rogue, we respecced Astarion as a fighter
And decided to give him some new threads. The result was pretty hilarious :D
We didn't have enough time to do the actual Cazador fight tonight, so that will be next week. When I will take more screenshots!

D. Any drawings or pictures that had a big influence on your writing?
Hm, as in my overall writing style in general? I don’t think art really influenced my writing voice. It certainly influences the atmosphere or mood I go for in specific projects---I definitely keep certain pictures or pieces of art in mind when trying to evoke a particular mood or scene, etc. This is why we have aesthetic/inspiration tags, yeah?G. Where do you think you grew the most this year?
I’m honestly not sure I can pinpoint anything in particular. Time is... very ???? for me nowadays, so it’s hard to remember what I wrote this year and what I wrote last year, etc. I like to think that I’ve grown in tightening up my narratives. I participated in a fanfic writing contest earlier this year for a handful of rounds, which was a good exercise, and I got some good feedback outside of that of certain writing ticks that I have. I feel I’ve become more aware of them and of how I can work to tighten up my narratives.
M. Meta! Have any meta about a story you’re dying to throw out there?
YES. But I can’t talk about it. Because original fiction spoilers. IT’S SO HARD SOMETIMES
but also it’d be really confusing because.... no one has read it.... so there’d be no context. I guess I just have to actually write it

if it makes you feel better my aunt said to me tonight something along the lines of "literally i can't even talk to my kid about her essay so you are going to do it for me okay okay good." so it is 100% okay to occasionally outsource parenting. <3
It is ok and necessary and much better for your children if there are more adult-parental-figures around, but I don’t HAVE ANY near here, so. *sighs some more*

It's not my jam at ALL, personally. To bring back another blast from the past, it squicks me something fierce. But it's a hard thing to blacklist for :\
Yeah, definitely not my thing either. I’m just taken aback at how prevalent it is all of a sudden. The other day I finished a game with a hinted-at M/F pairing that caught my interest, so I went to AO3 to investigate, only to find a mere ten fics for the pairing, and nearly three hundred for the male character/reader. I was just like... “but why?!”

It's especially disorienting in Pyre fandom where the protagonist is "the Reader" - so it's really hard to know going in which kind of fic it is.

It does seem especially mystifying in games where you play as a customizable character! Because why wouldn’t you just...write about your own character? Instead of trying to put every reader into a one-size-fits-all mold? Maybe it’s a notes/kudos/feedback thing...
